That is really cool for the M6 crowd. McLeod makes an awesome product.

so the clutch isn't actually holding anything? until you release the button to launch. right?

I may have misled some in that it does not actually lock anything, it is a release button for the throwout bearing. It holds the clutch DISENGAGED. You still need the Line Loc to hold the front brakes so that you don't roll backward out of the lights. [Many may not know this but at most tracks there are some good size 'divots' on the starting line from all of the rubber buildup and launches. If you have a shorter wheelbase car, the rear tires will tend to roll backwards into the center of the launch 'divot'. Conversely, if you have a longer wheelbase car it tends to roll forward into the launch 'divot'. A Looooong time ago I red lighted during a race because I did not have the Line Loc on after staging and the Firebird (yes the same Firebird) rolled backward out of the staging beam while I was waiting lights to come down. My fault, but a good lesson.] If a track is freshly prepped and scraped this shouldn't be an issue.

does that mean it can hold brake pressure as well as clutch pressure? or are the brakes bypassed?

The beauty of the McLeod unit is that it just get installed inline with the throwout bearing hydraulics. Then you wire it up and you're good to go.

There are two solenoids - one for the brake's Line Loc, one for the Throwout bearing. How you wire them is up to you. As one example: You could put a relay or double pole switch that lets you keep the Line Loc and Clutch Release on separate buttons so that you can engage the Line Loc in the burnout box to heat and clean your tires, and then you could flip a relay such that when you stage, a single button releases both Line Loc and Clutch simultaneously. |

so, you'd only need one button to do either line lock only, or line lock and clutch. And the switch/relay would tell the button whether it was in line lock only or like lock and clutch mode?
