3) I have to look up the info on the internet myself to find it out.
I think this statement has merit, but not in the sense he has to look it up on the internet, but he had to find it at a "Fan Site.

Camaro5 has a lot of info yes. They are in the "know" as they say....But they are not GM's [i]Official/i] site. I went to GM official site and did not see this news anywhere on it..In there news section they have a 07/15 announcement, so its not like the website is not being updated.

Its good that Camaro5 is sharing this info, but it seems a bit odd that the Official is not. Its not a secret....anyone interested in the Camaro now knows about this and other issues. So again its not the fact its on the internet, its just where on the internet that seem off.

As a disclaimer, I haven't read this whole thread. Just wanted a quick answer on whether the transmission failures actually have anything to do with launch control? I'm pretty sure I read a thread on here where someone had problems with their car and hadn't touched launch control at all. I'm seeing threads on other forums saying the Camaro launch control is causing transmission problems and it annoys me because I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with launch control, so I want to set the record straight if I can. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

First off... no one knows for sure there even is a problem. A few broke. That is known. What were the drivers doing will never be told. Do you think they would admit that they were 6K dumping the clutch? Doubtful. Lets just await the word from GM. A few cars out of over 25K is not bad. Stuff breaks, everything has its limit. You can't say it should be able to take it... blah blah blah. Go do a few 6K clutch drops in a ZR1 and see if you don't tear somehting up!

Let them look at it and see. My guess is its going to come back a driver neglect and abuse and we will get on down the road. If not, they will fix it ASAP and get our cars delivered. I am in the boat with you all but a few more days/weeks won't kill us. Remember this is just a play toy for most of us and won't hurt if its a bit longer than expected.

If it turns out you have a faulty transmission, launch control just increases the chance of it breaking. It can still break in normal driving conditions.

Its got everything to do with the heat treat of SOME output shafts on the MN6. Launch control may have revealed the issue for some and should not be a factor in the rest.
Think of it this way. Launch control makes the tire the "weak link". It is designed to minimize clutch slip by quickly breaking the tire loose and letting the clutch lock up fully. Rear wheel speed is compared to front wheel speed and is kept SLIGHTLY higher by feedback to the electronic thorttle until you reach the WOT position.

The MN6 trans is on total constraint this week to troubleshoot the batch issue.

Agree However, the only wildcard may be that supply and demand are catching up with projections and supplier capacity for this combo. FBOD mentioned this way back. I hope this is not the case as I continue to have a lot of demand for this setup. We'll stay tuned

No you did not miss an update. Once one comes, it will be posted on the homepage, so please check there and not this thread if you don't want to get yourself worked up. Please do not ask in this thread every 5 minutes.

Everyone please relax. Official updated info will come from GM as soon as it's ready. No need for the freakouts, all it does is work yourself (and other members) up unnecessarily.

The delay? I heard it was due to the NHRA's western swing. They had to divert a truck full of VHT traction compound and Goodyear slicks back east for QC testing at the plant. The shipment seems to be hung in customs as Homeland Security found a drum of nitro mixed in.
