I would say GM prolly has their asses covered. The reason it took so long to get the final no was they had their lawyers look over everything and then tell them what they could get away with. It sucks but greed and shareholder interest rules

I'd get the lawyer involved get some independent tests done and Mail the results along with the lawyer letter . If that doesn't get you anywhere then I'd suck it up, cut my losses and take the car to an honest local mechanic for repair on your dime it may be not as serious and costly as you think could be less than a thousand dollars to fix it which is less than a lawyer will want to even litigate such a claim . In a court room it is unlikely you'll win because they have picture proof that modifications were done which we all know is bogus . but to a judge who probably doesn't know a (catch can from an turbo charger )that may give him an easy reason to go their way . Don't be surprised if the dealer you took it too was in on it . They want to be sure they get paid so they could have took pictures of that catch can and raised concern before doing anything to ensure they get that good warranty money. They might have screwed the whole warranty issue up by prematurely blowing the whistle on your modifications out of fear of not getting paid by gm. The dealers are not your friend their goal is to make as much money off you as possible

C'mon guys. This isnt rocket science. Of course they are gonna deny it. Its just like insurance companies paying out claims. The burden of proof is on you to prove that you are right. Fight back. They know that this is on them but until you put the proper pressure on them, they arent going to cave in.
If you do have to get a lawyer, include their fees in your suit. You will not be out of anything because you will win.

But is it worth having a catch can if WE may have to go through this someday? Hopefully a vendor or manufacturer will respond to this thread.
I empty mine about every 6 months or so and I always get a few ounces out of it but as most of us using their Camaro as a DD I certainly could not afford any downtime while they denied a warranty claim. Makes Me wonder if I should just take it off? |

I would be cutting any and all ties with your current dealer. Then I would be contacting some at Rodgers Chevrolet, I would also be contacting a senior rep at GM customer care, being nice and professional is the best way to start out. Hope all works out in the end though, hang in there and keep track of everyone you talk to and when, that's your proof in the pudding.

Wow car had an oil pump failure and they put another mile on the engine and toasted it! I would go after the dealer for running the engine knowing it had no oil pressure and should not have been run....

You shut the engine off as soon as you saw the message. They put 1 mile on the car driving it with no oil pressure. They ruined your engine. I would fight it.

Been there, done that, get a lawyer. Stop all communication with GM and let your Lawyer send out his letter stating that he is now representing you in this matter. |

Whatever you decide to do, don't mention the BBB. GM and dealers will immediately clam up and refuse to talk to you.

I thought the "new"(er) Camaro's had a 'new and improved' oil pump? Maybe this thread answers the question but is it still a failure point of the LS based engine? Especially from GM's warranty standpoint, why make a hi-perf motor with a suspect oil pump? Because you can afford better counsel than John Q. Public?
