I don't have actual proof of this but it's ironic that the issue never happened until I installed it and it stopped after I pulled it.
I have a theory about issues like yours. These Controllers are programed for each engine, so LSA, LS3/L99, LLT, etc...I think that Vitesse might be sending incorrectly programmed Controllers to some customers every now and again. Just a theory, but maybe you can return yours and verify?

I also took mine off. I have headers, HF cats, CAI with scoop, and Bo White Ported TB. Car was running fine with no codes. I put the VTC on and took one short drive...wow, what a blast! It makes a very noticeable change in the pedal! But a few days later I went for a longer drive. It was fine most of the drive, but suddenly it kept throwing me into reduced power mode. DTC P1516. This means ECU is reading different actual throttle position than pedal position. This tells me the feedback from the VTC is confusing the ECM. I took the VTC out and have driven the car several times with no problem. I have had the battery unhooked for a couple days. Going to install the VTC and then hook up battery and reprogram the VTC. Hoping that works because I do want to use it. If it goes into limp mode again, I will leave it off the car.
For those saying it does nothing, you just push the pedal, you are flat wrong. Don't ever judge until you try it yourself. I was skeptical... But was pleasantly surprised! Hoping my ECM reset works and I can use it.

You'll have a really nasty permagrin, especially with the higher sport settings

This device gets rid of the lag, increases emissions, increases the chance the engine components do something harsh, decreases safety, decreases fuel economy.

People with this car generally don't care about emissions or fuel economy.

But safety and long term engine functionality may be important to some people.

I'll probably buy one eventually.
Here's something from someone who actually owns the product, me.

All this product does is remove that really really annoying deadspot in the pedal that you can't tune out. Before the mod, my pedal had a soft spot which did not really move the car leading me to have to push down harder and sometimes putting too much gas making the ride uncomfortable. Now the throttle is LINEAR. How much I put my foot down is exactly how much I get out. My fuel economy was 12.4 mpg on average now it is 13.1. All said and done, this product is amazing.

I don't know if anyone here knows what 'exponential' is, in relation to input vs output of potentiometers. I have a lifetime of experience with radio control hobby stuff (planes, cars, helis, etc). We use 'expo' to soften the feel of the aircraft around neutral around all the controls. It's great for precise control, but sometimes too much expo makes the control seem sluggish. Essentially, it feels to me like 'expo' is exactly what is programmed into the throttle control system, and IMO it's too much expo for when you want the car to feel more 'lively'.
The Vitesse basically allows you to program the expo out of the system, or so it seems to me. Those that say they know how to mash the throttle, don't get it. No matter how fast you floor it, the initial response of the butterfly is going to be slower than the rate that you mashed the pedal. The result is less 'slam your head back' feel.
With the Vitesse installed and programmed SP5 or above, the change in throttle response is REAL and NOTICEABLE. Does it make the car quicker or faster? It sure feels quicker, and 0-60 times have been documented to have improved for some people. It doesn't make the car faster, but for me it sure does make for a funner ride!

Haven't tried this yet but am going to order one for my '14 SS. Although the couple guys in here having issues kind of concerns me. But it looks like the common denominator with them is ported TB.

I had a ported tb on mine, and I put about 1600 miles on it with the vtc. I then switched back to my stock one. I noticed a slight difference in Throttle response, and the car was not as jumpy on takeoff.

If you don't have either I would buy the VTC 1st.

Interesting. I'll be installing a vmax tb along with CAI. I'll report back if I encounter issues. I'm hoping not, because I truly think that the vitesse offers a feel of 'kick' that I really only think the authentic feel comes with intake, cam, and exhaust. Of course the latter is better, but the vitesse sure makes the car 'feel' like there's more mods to the motor than just 0's and 1's...
