Was able to get some more things completed this afternoon.
After letting the carbon wrap sit overnight I went to put it on and discovered I would need to trim the mounting rings. For some reason I didn't get any pics of that part though.. Anyways, here is a pic after I cut and fitted the fuel crossover line. Next I started on the evap solenoid relocation. I took and modified the original lines and removed the factory ends to reuse. I cut off the plastic end and added some hose with shrink tubing. Next I found a location for the solenoid. I wasn't going to be happy with it on the back of the cylinder head so i found another spot just under the fuse box/behind the ECM. I utilized an existing hole w/nut already welded in. Here it is all finished up. Next up was to put the intake back on so i could finish the fuel lines and also start tucking all of the sires into place. Next up is to figure out how I am going to mount the coils down on the frame rails.

Yesterday while working on the coil relocation my wife had some time to help me try and wrap the fuse box cover. SO I took a break and worked on that for a while. Again, that tried my patience but we got it done and I like how it turned out.

Finally finished up cleaning up some of the clutter under the hood for now.
This is what it looked like before i to started. This is what it looks like now with the coils relocated to the frame rails, the evap solenoid relocated to the passenger side wheel well (under the ECM), moved the wire harness that ran above the passenger valve cover to behind the heat shield, removed the factory fuel rail and replaced with Holley EFI rails. Here is a pic of the passenger side. Here is a pic of the drivers side.

Finally got back to working on the front flares.. Been putting it off since I'm not a fan of body work...
Anyways, got them cleaned, prepped, put new 3M double sided tape on after using adhesion promoter on the flare, followed by a new batch of Dow Betalink K1. Flare with new 3M tape Drivers side flare on and clamped down Passenger side on and clamped down Parts used 3M tape - Part 06386 Please note: I didn't use the generic double sided tape that most auto parts stores (Oriellys, NAPA etc) carry. That stuff is too thick and will cause the top of the flare to stick out away from the fender at the top. This part number is the same thickness as OEM and is much tackier as well. 3M Adhesion Promoter - Part 06396 3M Cleaner - Part 08984 Dow Betalink K1 kit - BMW part # 82699408866. Please note that this stuff has a shelf life. How critical is that? I'm not sure.. I won't take the chance with it if its out of date though. The tube of Betalink with applicator BetaClean thats included with the kit. This is both a cleaner and primer according to BMW and thats how I use it.

I need to do this too, thanks for the info. Adding all of these to the order list.
You mention 3M Betalink K1. Is that the acrylic tape with the cleaner and adhesion promoter (as a system), or something different? |

Betalink is a separate product. I will get a pic and the part number added.

Betalink is the main component that holds the flare to the fender (along with the screws). The 3m tape just holds the outer edge of the flare flush with the fender to give it a clean look without any gaps.
Betalink is kind of like silicone or caulk when applying. The main difference is that it hardens a lot more than silicone does when it cures. There are two different types of Betalink, K1 & K2. The GM manual calls for K2 but I use K1. The K1 adhesive is similar in performance to the K2 adhesive but the K1 is a single component system where the K2 requires two components. This means the K1 is easier to use and doesn't require a special 'gun' for application. K1 has a longer curing time but this isnt a concern for me. If you havent bought any betalink yet, be aware that the K1 has a expiration date. Not sure how critical that is but I did get some that went out of date before I could use it. The only places I have been able to find it are places that deal with BMW parts. GM dealers have no idea what Betalink is. This is the place I got it from with very little time before it expired: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...82699408866kt/ This place had a long date: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-341633-tms341633/ And I also bought it from the local BMW dealer for around $45 or so. I decided to go this way so I could verify the date before buying it. Hope this helps

Good info, thanks. Is one Betalink order/tube enough to attach all 4 corners?

If you have everything fitted, cleaned and ready to go, one should be enough.

On Sunday I removed the clamps & tape and put the wheel wells back in. Will get it back on the ground today and maybe take it for a drive on Sunday if the weather forecast is anywhere near accurate.
