I have still got my order in, but is GM really deserving of it??

I could not run my business the way GM has run theirs, or I would have been out of business years ago! (GM has twice the debt to assets!?)

GM's thanks to me for ordering my car in Oct is a piece of paper, while my order still sits at 1100, on a number one allocation!! And they wonder why the "Old General Motors" failed?

Cancelled an order for 14 Chevy fleet chassis today. Switched over to Ford. Want to buy a Camaro but will probably end up with a Ford because I prefer doing business with a non government run entity.

The whole thing sucks anyway you cut it though.

Knew that GM was headed to chapter 11 when I ordered - no surprises so far

Parking lots of camaros in canada will start flowing to the dealers once the "New GM" is alive and can claim the revenue

Blows me away how some folks are now almost turning this into a discussion on buying a car from the government....

What next - dont buy a camaro - its funded by Democrats ;-)

wow.....

Bankruptcy will be pretty seamless for GM and they should get out of it pretty soon. I think enough people have want the car now that it won't really matter.

I would still buy one. I have to wait until I can turn my current lease in early, so it may be a few months. I spoke to a very nice salesman at Les Stanford Chrevrolet (in Dearborn, MI) this morning and he still seemed very upbeat and eager to help me out even with the news of the bankruptcy. Thanks to the person that recommended that dealer on this forum! (I think someone on this forum did, didn't they?)

If the question is just, "If GM goes into bankruptcy, would I still buy one?" Yes I would. (Ordered 3/13/09)
Since it is now, "If GM goes into bankruptcy, and the US gov. gets 60%, Canadian gov. gets 12.5%, and the UAW gets 17.5%" then ..No. I am calling my dealer today and will cancel my order. I will gladly let him keep the $1,000 deposit for his time. This is not capitalism; my conscience will not let me but this car now. I would be a hypocrite.

No. Why because I want a Z06. My son's just bought a Camaro SS and I just bought my wife a 2009 Cadillac SRX.

We are doing our part. BTW the SRX is fantastic and built like a bank vault.

I'm prepared to support GM as long as they keep making vehicles like the Vette, Camaro and many of the new Cadillac's.
