PQ, I do think everybody reacts differently and you just gotta find what works for you individually. If you can get shredded eating popcorn, coke, and chicken tacos that's rocks.

I had a guy at the gym say something to me one day when we were talking about diet and it really made me think. He said to look at all the muscle bound inmates in the jails. Those guys don't get fed well with protein shakes or anything else yet they're still huge. They work out all day because there's nothing else to do and the body adapts.

Oh, even though I eat pretty healthy comparatively, my cholesterol is JACKED up. They wanted to put me on statins and I refused. I've been taking Red Yeast Rice for a couple years and it's doing the trick. It went from 286 down to like 190.

I get it from Mom. Her's is jacked up too. Surprisingly her doctor told her to drink two alcoholic drinks a day to help with it. WOO HOO!

Ya, I guess that's what I am agreeing to, but what I'm realy saying is you don't have to eat 5 times a day. Or even 3. Everyone is different.

LITERALLY, I would eat 2 non-fat hotdogs with bun and some mustard, and a bolw of popcorn. THAT's IT. Not a morsel more.

I got tired of hearing people tell me that's unhealthy. I lost 30 pounds, still had muscles, and a ton of energy, and my blood work was great.

Of course a sedintary lifestyle and a ton of eating is bad. My only point is you don't have to slide all the food groups in 5 times a day unless YOUR body calls for it.

AND it depends on what you are planning. hrpii HAS to. He's got a specific goal to meet.

Me? I just need to get trimmer. Plain and simple. Muscles have never been a problem for me. My joints won't allow for lifting wieghts anymore. So I'll have to just diet and lightly exercise and drive my car.

CFD, you are giving some good advice here, but I don't think he needs to add any malidextrose to his protein PWO. I am not going against your advice, but I think if Speedy found something that works, he should jump all over it. Everyone is different and finding how our body works is the challenge.

"I've found in my case that when cutting I shred the fat a bit faster working out on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. I hit that scoop of protein to help avoid as much catobolism, but I don't want any carbs there so my body has to search for energy sources. It'll hit the fat stores first as they're easier to break down than muscle. I do need to add that post workout shake though, I've been reading up on that, but I'll have to cut something else from my diet to make up for the calories."

If this works, and he knows it works, he should jump all this over routine and base his meals/nutrition around it.

In the PB comparision.. one is Vegatable oil, the other is.. oh, nothing. Don't compare nutrition, compare ingrediants

Whatever. Miss knowit all. That's a total croc. I don't care who you are or how you diet. If you have the predisposition of easy weight gain, it doesn't matter how you lose the weight. If you eat like crap, you gain the weight back. One method over the other isn't gonna somehow, magicaly, make it harder to gain weight. Name: 47.gif

Ah, got it.

So does that Pro Complex mix up nice like the ON Whey does? I noticed the serving size says 2 scoops, but I figure one is good for cutting pwo?

P.S. - The 10 Wheat Ritz are just a vehicle for the tuna. I HATE seafood of all kinds. Without those I don't think I could eat tuna haha.

I love how you word things and make it hard to argue like you agree and disagree in the same paragraph! All I'm saying is what you do to diet is a temporary solution. its one extreme when your dieting then another extreme after you've lost the weight.

Not disagreeing with any of the above posts but here is my reasoning. If you are getting decent results that's good but there is usually room for improvement. When your body is properly nurished it will burn fat for fuel but otherwise not or people wouldn't be fat they would be energetic. It's like building your engine you put in a cam, cai, high flow cats and 89 octane gas, sure your car is faster but guarenteed it will run better on hightest. These above reasons are why you should always log what you eat then you know what adjustments to make rather than haphazardly doing things.

as far as the maltidextrose that's what I use as it's dirt cheap and acts fast, if you look at most post workout drinks thay usually have a fast acting carb in them or recommend mixing with some sort of juice, (simple carb) same thing.

Mixes very well, you will love it.

I understand about the ritz, try and find some other wheat thins that may have better nutritional values (look for lowest carbs/calorie/sugar)

So what? I happen to be a compulsive person. If I were to lose weight using YOUR method, I'd STILL eat like shit when I was done. And you know it.

I likes me some GRUB.................. Ahhhhh, Micky Deeeeez

okay, I feel like splitting a few hairs here. and definitely keeping this light and forward.

I was focusing on his "working out on an empty stomach' burns for more him he should continue this. Not only this, but he should wait at least an hour after his cardio before eating, this will keep his metabolism burning this excess fat/energy. Once he eats the first bite of food or has a PWO, his body is going to actually "click" into burning that just consumed food for energy. Goal here is to get rid of fat, and get healthy. With this goal in mind, I would continue what works for him. Now.. if we get to a point he can NOT do cardio in the morning due to low fuel/energy, then yes, time to prime the pump and hit the gym. But you can not do both, putting food into your system and hitting the gym will burn that food you just ate, not that fat tire around your waist..... not as fast. ...this is the splitting hair.

also want to add about PQ's cholesteral... some people just have high cholesterol, is in their DNA! I know this, I know this first hand. My mom has hit, my dad has it and guess what, not matter how clean I eat, and workout it would not drop below 200. So, yes, it helps, but some people, no matte how hard you try to drop that dam thing, it doesn't move. I am on lipitor and love it!

That's exactly it right there.

I had to make major dietary changes to get mine down along with the red yeast rice. I cut out eggs and went to egg beaters, stuff like that. At my last physical I ran out of red yeast rice about 3 weeks before. I decided to wait and see what my chol was before getting more to see if maybe it was just something else. Nope, my chol shot back up to 238.

I'll go another year with the RYR and see where it's at my next phys. If it's still high I'll have to look in to the statins although I don't like meds at all.
