Thanks again
If you have room behind the bumper maybe. If you look where mine are, the fittings just make it behind the bumper and allow the cooling fins plenty of room for air. I had to use 2 as the ZL1 bumper tapers when it comes to the sides. Thus the split version.

I wanted each set of heat exchangers to have as much clear air as possible...

I imagine if you keep the seal dry on the tube and lubricate only the outside of the seal it will work.

I played around with it here in the shop and but with no lubrication.

Testing Lower HXs and Jannetty Dipstick HOT!

Took the car out tonight to test HX and Trans Dipstick hot. Both did excellent! HX was only 4° over ambient while driving, and the trans dipstick reading hot was in the hot area -- probably could add just about a 1/2 quart, but 9 qts is a good number and the trans temps were very cool. I did have to use a glove on the dipstick as it was a bit hot -- since it is near the header -- not a big deal, but carry a pair of mechanics gloves with you -- just to be safe.

Really happy this is doing what I expected right now! Hard to complain. At a stop, the IAT2 temps reached about 10° to 15° over ambient while not moving, so, I'd call that doing its job!

I'll of course have to wait until it gets into the 90's and 100's before knowing for sure, but as of right now, very nice indeed!

I have a few other things in mind, but may wait until after summer to do them, where the car can sit a few weeks.

So, I have 1 upgraded radiator, 1 ac condenser, 2 power steering coolers, 3 Supercharger heat exchangers, 1 intercooler, and 1 transmission cooler, making 8 'heat' exchangers in all. Not bad!

But, as of right now, this thing is running amazingly...

All depends on space ;o). I have room in front of the trans/power steering coolers to mount one...

Who knows? X25 had a write up for using the factory cooler and supplement with an external one...

Nice night tonight so I took it out for another hour drive -- everything has fallen into place, runs great, cooling is working (IAT2, Trans, Engine, Oil). Eaton -- getting use to the clicks and clanks, diff bushings noise -- getting used to that.

Next on the list? I found a rebuilt blower and snout so I'm going to see about getting it ported (by Jokerz!) and pulley down to 2.5 grip-tec. I figured with the porting (snout and blower) will help flow and HP, but possibly lower boost (may be at 1 lb @ most), the pulley would probably get me up to around 8 -- we'll see. That would also mean new injectors -- ID 850s or the ID1050x if they are the same dimensions (says will work with LSA!).

Anyway, I'm guessing with porting and pulley maybe 60 to 70 rwhp max -- I'd be surprised if it got more.

I'll get it installed, get a tune from Ryan with injector/est the boost -- then drive it up to GPI to have them tune the VVT/Fuel -- I'm expecting the fueling will be good with the ZL1/ADM FPCM -- I know there are tuning options to increase the voltage without having to put a boost-a-pump on -- saw that on HP tuners forum -- for the E38!

Anyway, that is the plan over the next couple of months -- never can leave it alone ;o)

You know, if I was as hard-core as you, I'd be NA and running a Z28!

But, for an FI part timer, its not half bad. With this one, I'd not push it 7/10s -- I'd still have to deal with heat -- but what I do have in mind with the porting, really interested to see how it reacts to what I have planned ;o)

BTW, thanks for helping out with CFest! I'm all signed up too!

Another hour long test drive tonight -- weather is beautiful and wow, the performance is awesome. Did some 'spirited' driving, really loving the Eaton, that things is so much better than the posi-mod for what I want to do.

Temps are still excellent and really are settling in nicely. Have plans for a vaccum pump after checking out the V6 sections -- they have some really good ideas so I've picked up a setup and going to install -- this is for the brakes since I'm cam'd and want to help the 'cold startup' vacuum. Don't think an electric vacuum pump would help for 'evacuating' the pcv system, but we'll see how this goes.

Waiting on the blower to come in so I can send it out for porting and pulley. Lots to do!

Did a check this morning and it looks like I may be sucking air into the intercooler system. So I've purchased the SnapOn coolant vacuum setup and will see where it is -- I'm betting its a fitting -- even though I've sealed it and don't see any leaks...
