The site is actually www.truecar.com (singular not plural). I had the text wrong, but the link was correct. I since fixed the text of the post.

I got the quote of $34,618 from 2 dealers and a third at $34,800. I have talked to both these dealers by phone, no hidden fee's or other garbage. I went and visited a couple of local dealers to give them a chance to price match, their prices where not even close. I told them up front what price I had, one of them told that no way could I get it for that price. Only issues are both of these dealers are not close. One is 85 miles away and the other 100. But for $2500, I will drive a couple of hours.

I just ordered my 2SS RS car yesterday out the door for 39000 after tax and license. My options were the RS package, hurst short shifter and sun roof.

My dad bought his truck here a few years back. Neither of us have found a dealer here in the central valley that can even touch their prices.

I got the car at:

Purchased mine for $33,875 out the door. 1SS RS pkg. no auxillary gauges or splash guards (which I want bad). $1,000 over invoice. It had the white stipe package (not the true skunk stripes) which I told them to take off. Yeah - I paid $500 for the stripes, but they take away from the body line IMO, so they had to go. Credit Union gave me 3.25% for 5 yrs. Harder for dealers here in Alaska to move these cars in the winter as they are not set up to drive in snow, although mine will never see snow.

Lightbulb 2011 Camaro Convertible

Miami Lakes Chevrolet is selling the new Camaro Convertible for MSRP w/ 3% discount on any options. Contact the dealer directly as there are only 4 order allocation slots for late March production still available. Send a PM with order details.

I found 3 dealers in the greater Chicago area with very good prices, all around $2,500 below MSRP and slightly below dealer invoice:
Rockenback - Grayslake, IL
Boucher - Racine, WI
Phillips - Frankfort, IL

Way, way, over MSRP, plus these guy's acted like you should be honored they are doing you a favor in selling you the car.
Arnell - Burns Harbor, IN

Most dealers where someplace around the preferred pricing and wouldn't touch the good prices I had.

All I can say guy's and gal's is I'm sorry. After over 2 months of shopping for a new Camaro 2SS, I didn't get one. We bought a 2011 Malibu and 2006 Vette.

Cost Analysis of My 2011 SS

Refer to the attached PDF.

The convertibles are obviously in high demand. In general, though, you should not have to pay sticker.

For the 2011 2SS Coupe (which was built this week by the way) that I ordered back on 23 Feb, I shopped around via internet and phone to dealerships in Nevada, California, and Idaho. A Nevada dealership agreed to order the car for me and to sell it to me for $36,092 + sales tax and fees, which was $387.61 under the "dealer invoice" price of $36,479.61. Dealership will still make $1,092.87 on the transaction when GM (Chevrolet) refunds the holdback. Not a bad profit for simply processing the paperwork to order the car for me.

Deal or No Deal?

Hi,

Hope I'm doing this right; it's only my second post!

I'm looking in Tucson for a 1LT automatic 2011 coupe (no RS package/connectivity/sunroof, or anything else), and the MSRP at the local dealer is 25,930.00 for one on the lot. The dealer quoted me at OTD $29,000. I countered and the lowest they said they could go OTD was $28,000. Now, assuming I calculated that correctly, the actual car price (less fees and taxes) would be roughly $25,000. Is that something I should be happy about? Is this a legitimate "deal" or do you think that the dealer is playing me and just trying to take advantage of me? The dealer insists that that's what they paid for the car and that's rock-bottom.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Thanks Glen
