Then GM should take a lot of people on this forum to court, Seen all the wannabe ZL1's on the forum? People are even putting it on the V6.

Unfortunately I have to return the car tonight since we are leaving. Had a great vacation though, car was fun especially with the top down. Makes me crave trying a V8 out though.

As I said a few times, no suing. It wouldn't be worth my time since there was no "loss" or "damage" to me. I just hope that if it was indeed intentionally misbadged they fix this for others that were charged the higher rate.

I do understand some of the sue sentiment if this is something more widespread.

I really just started the thread to just inform on what happened to me and also to make sure that I wasnt crazy that it was a V6 under there.

It would really be nice if the location has an explanation on how this happened when I get back tonight. Ill keep you guys updated.

Sorry for causing such an uproar for a first post

Wont be the last time you guys hear from me! Its nice in here

Wow, power of the internet. Hopefully this helps in getting an answer on how it actually happened. So far I really haven't gotten any explanations, its nice that Jalopnik was actually promised a follwup hopefully I get the same when I bring the car back tonight.

Just an update, I returned the car and wasn't able to get a manager or answer on drop off. There was a white SS (I assume it was, this one actually had a slot) parked next to my drop off.

At the desk I was only charged for our original full size price so Hertz had that in the system and there was no hassle. I ended up leaving my email and asked if the manager could email me on what happened.

I really hope they do send me some explanation.

The only thing I regret is giving them the original rental contract that said I upgraded to a SS. I have all those pictures and videos of the original contract though if they ever question it.

If I've learned anything its check the car throughly before you leave the lot....don't let the badges go to your head!

In the end im dissapointed that i didnt get to try a SS out. Im more depressed im leaving Hawaii if anything.
