According to Nastyz28.com last post by april81z there were over 700 camaros at carlisle last year that registered on the show feild. Go to nasty z.com and read the camaro national official press release it makes it hard to pick

While I am still up in the air, I am closer to the ground. If it is only 55 miles to Frederick, MD I like Carslile. Like I've said, I have never been to Carslile and would like to see it. Like Andy said, if Friday is a bust we can run down to MD.

The Camaro Nationals will be held in Frederick, MD next year. The ACA has chosen not to renew their contract with Carlisle and asked the MD Camaro Club to take over doing the show. They will still be there giving their support to the show. All the judges and show support staff are moving to Frederick with the Camaro Nationals. I'm sure Carlisle will have Camaro classes, but won't have the infrastructure that's been in place for the last 6 years (with the Maryland Club) or the last 12 years by the ACA.

We had a great turnout of fifth gens at the Camaro Nationals in 2010 and hope to have an even bigger turnout of all Camaros at the 2011 event.

Never been to the Carslile Show.I would like to go the best show of the two.See more,learn more.I'll vote for Carslile.Unless there is a lobbyist around.

I guess I'm a lobbyist. I'm also the president of the Maryland Camaro Club.

Carlisle will not have the Camaros like they did in years past because the majority will be in Frederick at the Camaro Nationals. The ACA has worked too hard over the years to give up on the Camaro Nationals because of a change of venue.

Thanks for posting up some information April. A couple of us were at Carlisle last year with our 5th gens and saw first hand how awesome the Camaro field was. That is what is making this decision so difficult. To be part of a Camaro only show or a broader all GM show? Most, if not all of us will enter in the non-judged class, so basically it's all about seeing what's out there. The votes are out and we have time to decide, and like has been mentioned earlier, we could possibly work out a way to see both.

I understand this has kind of upset the apple cart. All we are asking is to give us a chance. The management of Carlisle really left the ACA no choice. They have been trying to take over the show for years because they saw the potential to put dollars in their pockets. The ACA for years has donated most of the proceeds of the show to the Silence of Mary Home - a place for abused and neglected children. I'd rather know my money is going to a good cause than lining some promoter's pocket. That tradition will not change with the MCC running the show with the ACA support.

I will try to check back frequently to keep everyone informed and answer any questions folks may have.

April thanks for adding posts and lobbying for your cause its not an easy chose as mark said he and i went last year and it was awesome to see everything,but i didnt see it all. i read on the other forum that you are running from thursday to saturday is that correct.the other thing is that if we hit both as a club we need to pay two entrance fees plus hotel. we can lean your way with a little insentive haha andy

Thursday is really a setup day. A lot of the high-end cars roll in on Thursday because they have to be ready for judging on Friday. The main show is Friday and Saturday - just as always. The only real change we are looking at doing is having the awards on Saturday late afternoon at the fairgrounds, instead of Sunday morning. Some folks leave on Saturday evening that have earned awards and if we can have the presentation then, it saves a lot of postage having to mail them out, lol.

I understand this can be a difficult decision.

But have you seen or heard anyone from Carlisle lobbying for your attendance or answering questions?
