Old Fart With A New 2SS - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I just got my 2010 Camaro 2SS on Saturday the 7th of November, what a great car; fast, gorgeous and I want to keep it that way. This is the first black car (w/white stripes) I have owned and the first new car in a long time. I have arthritis in my neck and shoulders so I can’t pamper my baby like I want. So I have already washed it twice, once by wand and once at a touch-less place. Moose should I take it to a detailer to get the best polish/wax to protect it and then would it be okay to wand wash it? What questions should I ask the detailer and what procedures should I tell them not to use. Can you (or anyone else) recommend a detailer in the Denver area?

First, YOU'RE NEVER TOO OLD TO OWN A CAMARO!

Congrats on the new ride!

I can't help you with locating a detailer in Denver. But what I can suggest is for you to do your homework. I keep a "portfolio" of cars I do to show new customers my work prior to detailing their cars. Ask the detailer you find if its possible to see some of their work. Ask what type of polishes and methods they use. Explain to them your concerns. Ask alot of questions.

As for washing, I always prefer hand washing. Ask the detailer if its possible to bring the car to them for washes. I offer this to my customers.
