New F-150 V6s put down the strip

I am impressed.

http://www.autoblog.com/2010/10/27/v...50s/#continued

The regular cab 3.7 did the 1/4 mile in 15.8@87ish

The ecoboost extended cab did it in 14.67@95!!!!

Not bad for heavy assed trucks!

Those are incredible times for V6 powered full size trucks.
Ecoboost regular cab, IMO.

Why are we running 6000lb trucks down the 1/4 mile again?

Unreal. Times we never thought we would see 10 years ago out of a truck like that!

The ecoboost F150 may get some V6 Camaro drivers.

It is going to be a surprising truck. That track looked wet and it was also an extended cab which weighs around 350 more pounds than the regular cab! A regular cab 2wd may be a surprising little beastie and with the right driver on the right track may break into the 13s! THAT IS NUTS. THe only other fullsizer (currently built) I know of that is capable of that is the Ram R/T! Heck that is 2nd gen SVT Lightning numbers!

Based on what I've read, the Ecoboost/Turbo V6 isn't available in a regular cab -- extended cab and crew cab only.

That's unfortunate, as a regular cab/short bed/2WD with the V6/Turbo is the one I'd buy for sure.

Thinking I'll get same truck with the regular 3.7, which is still putting out some pretty good numbers. But Ford will lose out on a couple grand worth of revenue they could have gotten out of me for the turbo....
