Am I going overboard/too far? (Paint Damage)

I recently picked up my new 2LT/RS CGM from the dealer. They had to get it from another dealership in the next state, so I had to wait a day to pick it up.
No big deal. Well, the day comes to get it and I notice some minor damage to the front passenger side panel.
I tell the dealer and he says they will get their paint guys to fix it back to its original condition.

Well, I took it today to get the paintwork done, and this is what I return to. (The guys did the best they could, considering the panel is pitted.)
I alert the dealer to this and that I wanted the damage repaired completely. Not just painted over. Would you guys have done the same if in my position?
I feel that since I ordered a new car through them, it should have been NEW, not damaged.

I would not have taken delivery. Not acceptable after they claim it is repaired

WOW I could have done that... All they did is use touch up paint without fixing the damage. I would not accept that at all.

Um that's terrible. They use touch up paint. What a pure display of laziness.

Definately not acceptable to me. Looks like they've done no more than used a touch up stick. Insist on a finish you'd expect on a new car.

Geez, who did that touch up Ray Charles? Jose Feliciano? Roy Orbison?

Helen Keller?

I'm glad they're taking care of you. Their first attempt was unacceptable imo.

Helen Keller? lol Now that IS going back a bit! I would almost bet that you and I are about the only ones here who are even remotely familiar with her name.

Not likely. She's on the back of the Alabama quarter.

Heck yes! I am older than dirt. (60 going on 61 in January).

All I can say is "Miracle Worker" with Patty Duke and Anne Bancroft.

Nah, the name is tied in pop culture. Garnered notoriety.
