2012 Camaro interior -- is ZL1 interior it?

Is the interior in the ZL1 basically the 2012 interior for all models sans suede and other high end touches?

I thought the 2012 interior was supposed to be redesigned; this looks the same?

Also, any word on whether bluetooth/connectivity will be integrated into all models or if the package price will go down in price for 2012? $600-$700 seems like way too much for a usb port and bluetooth

Could be??

I thought the 2012 interior was supposed to be redesigned;
To my knowledge, that was just rumor and never confirmed.

But just found this thread!! http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=128410
I like the dash on the passenger side.

I actually appreciate the deep-dish steering wheel of the current models more now. The new, corporate wheel doesn't even have a special CAMARO stamped on it... :(

I hate to say it, but they'll say anything not to piss people off in those conferences. Last year I asked about bringing back ABM or introducing a new blue for 2011 and Fitz told me that it was "definite" possibility. (to give me hope, I guess) But it never happened.

Expect that steering wheel, because if you hope for more, you'll be unpleasantly surprised.

I agree that the old steering wheel looked more Camaro, I don't care if reviewers claim it is hard to use. It's round, put your hands on it. Hold on. problem solved.

Anyway, regarding the redesigned interior. I think this is it. You won't get suede, but you can bet even the base models will have soft touch dash's where the suede is on the ZL1. Too many reviewers complained about that. I still don't get what the big deal is though. You don't sleep on your dash. Yes, they could've added some visual enhancements to the passenger side dash, but the interior still looks great.

The shifter looks to be a different shape, and the vents are also reshaped a little. The tachometer and speedometer have a different font too. So add that to the soft touch dash and steering wheel, you have a "redesign" But seriously, I'd be glad that they didn't change too much, because honestly, if you changed too much only 2 years after its intro, I am willing to bet you'd see a lot of people complaining that their "late model" 10/11 camaros have a crappier interior than the '12 model or you'd see a bunch of people complaining that they RUINED the '12 model's interior.

They want you to pay $30/mo for OnStar navigation instead! Obvious for-profit choice!

But really, a $2000 in-dash nav system really pretty high profit in itself, but I think they'd rather take the recurring income as they are probably betting that a lot more people would be willing to pony up $30/mo for 5 years than would be willing to pay $2000 up front for a in-dash system. It's just a numbers game, really, but trust me it works. Why do you think all those rent-to-own stores are in business?

Onstar Nav is only $20/mo if you pay the year in advance and negotiate the price a bit, they are more than willing, trust me!

Personally I like it as is, I like the little screen in the dash, the directions have never been wrong (even in the backwoods dirt roads of Vermont!), its non-intrusive and simple to use.

Yeah for me I guess it's just a matter of being on overload for monthly service charges. My data plan for my cell phone is already $30/mo. Since I have free Google Navigation with my phone, I feel like for the one time a month I use navigation, I don't really want to pay the extra fee. But you're absolutely right, it's a personal preference.
