1966 W-30 vs 2011 SS A6

Just want to hear what you all think. If it goes down there will be lots of videos!

Stock for stock. I own both cars and if I ever bring my Camaro back to Cali will have to have my dad run me in my W-30. Here's a ton of info on the 66 W-30 for those who don't know.

Top speed:
130 mph (208 km/h)
0-60 mph (0-96 km/h):
6.0 sec
Engine type:
V8
Displacement:
400 ci (6,554 cc)
Transmission:
4-speed manual
Max power:
360 bhp (268 kW) @ 5,000 rpm
Max torque:
440 lb ft (596 Nm) @ 3,600 rpm
Weight:
3,197 lb (1,453 kg)

Those are obviously conservative estimate for the W-30 as I can run high 12's/low 13's in my stock W-30.

A near perfect set of runs in a stock W-30

What tires on the olds... if you have good tires, the olds is going to KILL the camaro out of the hole! I have built so many frickin olds motors I know them like the back of my hand The olds will fall off on the top end and the camaro will start to pull and catch up with that chevy top end power! Depending on tires... the olds has the 60ft advantage, thats a tuff one I want more info on the olds.

My 70 with 4.10s and a mild cam and heads on a 8.1 compression motor ran low 12s with tires and ran crazy hard to the 1/8th, without tires on the olds my money is on the camaro with that topend.

Currently I have 245/60X15 Goodyear Radial T/A's on the W-30 that were show tires, but have been sitting for 4 years and I don't want to run the car on those tires. May purchase a new set and put them on if I go home for summer to drive her.

Well those tires wont hook, I think it all depends on how you launch the olds. If you have a bad start it will loose, a good start and I think the olds could take the camaro. We are talking bone stock w30 right? I think it will be close. I beat the olds is not that light either, I would say closer to 3400lbs and hooking it with a 4speed gonna be fun!

Ya, fully stock only difference is that I am running 15" SSII wheels instead of the stock wheels. If I am launching the olds I can get her to hook with very little spin. My father, well he is used to running his Hurst/Olds so it may take him some practice to get it to hook.

I am gonna say unless you get a real good start, the camaro will pull away at the end of the track.
