So the cops show up at my door...
It was about 10:30 at night and I had dozed off watching TV. I hear the door bell and like a grumpy old man I assume it's some kids playing a prank or something. So I ignore it. Then comes a 2nd ring. I think to myself, "these kids sure are persistent" By now I sat up because I started to think the worst... What if it's a criminal scoping out my house? I thought. Then I hear "thud thud thud" on the door. Somebody started knocking. So then I go to look out the window, my heart pumping, hoping that no crazy axe murder is waiting outside. My wife yells from upstairs, "it's the cops answer the door"
So I open the door, the cops say "hellooo" in kind of like one of those assumptive tones like they knew I was home but was being a jerk for not answering. Then they ask me if I drive a white MUSTANG. And I said "no officer, I do drive a CAMARO though" Then they ask if I had driven my car today. And I am thinking, what the heck kind of question is that? Of course! Then they ask me if I had driven it in the last 5-10 minutes. I tell them no and they ask to see my car. So because I don't feel like giving the cops a hard time, I let them in my garage. They are just doing their jobs anyway. So they come in and start looking at the car and say "nice car!" But man that whole incident freaked me out. I went from thinking it was some annoying kid ringing the doorbell, to axe murder, to thinking that the cops were going to give me some sort of ticket for some random thing I didn't know I could get a ticket for! It's a shame that people still can't tell the difference between a Mustang and a Camaro. And it's now very obvious that my car is well known to the cops in town. They said that reports were that the car had driven down my street. So they stopped by my house knowing where I lived. Sure they probably could've pulled DMV records looking for owners of white "mustangs" but I really think the cops just remembered where I lived. Guess no doing donuts in the local grocery store parking lot for me. The cops are all on the look out for my suspicious white car!

Not a good way to start the day. I had one of those rude early morning knocks at my door too a while back. I had passed some old guy in a pick-up (legally) the day before. He was going really slow (like 35 in a 55 mph). The guy wanted to press charges against me for something. The cop was cool though talked the guy out of it. I was like WTF, I pass legally & some old fart wants to press charges! Really made me mad, but I was glad I didn't have to meet ( & beat) him in court. Glad yours turned out to be nothing. Still................not fun.
