Adams & Zaino = :-(
Well I am thinking about getting the adams kit with the PC to remove the swirls in the paint but I also have Zaino as well. I sent an e-mail to Zaino asking if I could use the Adams Swirl & Haze to correct the swirls then use the Zaino over it and here is the response I got from Zaino:
Hello, My question is. I have some more swirl marks than I believe the z5 can handle. I was wondering if I can use Zaino over other products. I want to use the Adams Swirl & Haze remover with a Porter Cable to remove the swirls and then can I apply the Zaino Z2 over that once the paint is corrected without swirls? No problem.. Zaino must be applied over bare paint. Zaino will not bond properly when applied over Adams Swirl & Haze removeror any wax or glaze... So now my second question.....What about using the Adams and the PC to remove the swirls and correct the paint...THEN do a dawn wash and get the Swirl & Haze off the car then go with the Zaino again????? Because Zaino Show Car Polish is optically perfect (99.9%) The optimum results are achieved by using over wax free paint. Just thoroughly wash the painted surface with Dawn before applying Zaino and you'll be fine.. Thank You, Sal Zaino |

Isn't Zaino not even a true polish? A polish is an abrasive...
If it's not, then it probably is just filling your swirl marks, in which case Adam's Glaze works wonders. |

Sal is a nice guy...
Yes you can use SHR/FMP prior to using Z5 / Z2... Sal also sells a abrasive polish Z-PC i believe. However Adam's does true polishes much better than Zaino. If you do polish with Adam's then seal with Zaino, make sure you either wipe the car down with Isopropyl Alcohol:Water 1:1, or re-wash with dawn after polishing to remove the light silicones from the paint in the polish. Americana is my grand finale - but to each is their own, and your combo should work fine.

Zaino products are designed to work together much the same way Adams products are designed to work together.
I doubt your car will spontaneously combust should you combine Zaino and Adams. If layers of Z5 doesn't correct your swirls, then you have no choice but to bust out the PC and Adams SSR and SHR. Try it out, see what it looks like. It's your car, you have to be happy with the results. With the Zaino, there's a reason Sal tells you to wash your car with Dawn firts. It's to strip any and everything on the car. Zaino goes on bare paint and layers beautifully to provide depth, gloss and durability.

Since Adams Swirl and Haze remover is a polish, it should leave very little residue behind. I would think that a wash with dawn would get you back to a clean car without any product on the surface. At that point you should be able to apply whatever brand of wax that you prefer.

Both are excellent products, but there is a major difference generally.
Zaino is a layered product that removes the appearance of swirl by filling them in, but they are still there. Adam's is a truer polish system that removes the swirls from the surface altogether. Then you top with a sealant/glaze/wax. Use the product that get you the results you are happy with. |

It's funny, some of the same guys who tell me I'm wasting my time by doing an IPA wipe between/after polishes because Adam's finishes so clean are in here telling you to be sure to wipe or wash before applying sealant.
There is absolutely no reason why you couldn't use Zaino after polishing with Adam's. As long as you clean the surface properly (which you should be doing even if you use MSS or anything else), you won't hit any problems whatsoever. Where you'd run into snags is using MSS and then trying to do Zaino. But since polishes aren't meant to be left on the paint, whatever sealant you do after that will be touching "bare paint"
