It just dawned on me...(ZL1 vs Vette)
It just dawned on me that no one will be able to touch this car.
Not even a ZO6. Unless maybe a LS9 ZR1..... And its not likely we will find that many Zr1's roaming the streets.... The streets will be ours people! I aint even worried about that Shelby GT500! Now if that don't make Camaro owners happy nothing will.

A bit too bold. I don't know about a Z06. Guys with just tires have seen 10 second E.T's trapping just under 130mph. I don't think the ZL1 would be able to do that with nearly a thousand pounds more. Not saying it's not gonna be fast, it's gonna be wicked fast, an animal for sure and I know I'm gonna love them. The Z06 is just an animal.

Lets not get crazy. A ZL1 is not going to beat a Z06. Not at the dragstrip or in the twisties. I'm buying a ZL1...but you gotta be realistic.

I suspect there is goign to be a continuing trend of "OMG ZL1!!!! BEST CAR EVAR!!!" and people will buy it expecting to slay everything on the road, and then when it doesnt, there will be a great surge of disappointment.
Dont get me wrong, it'll go like stink and be cool as hell. However, like what happened two years ago when the SS's arrived..every loss will result in people doubting and throwing a fit. ZL1<Z06/ZR1. |

I agree, my expectations are not aimed that high. I'm thinking and hoping it'll perform somewhere between the GS and Z06 Corvette.

The Z06 will whip a ZL1.
Assume 4000 pounds for the ZL1 (SS is 3800 and the ZL1 will definitely be more). Assume 600 horsepower for the ZL1. That's 4000lb/600hp = 6.67lb/hp Z06 is 3175lb/505hp = 6.29lb/hp If the ZL1 only gets 575hp, that's 6.96lb/hp. A Corvette GS has 7.68 lb/hp. So the ZL1 will be between a GS and a Z06 in a straight line. Either Vette would handle the ZL1 easily on a track though. |
