Can Someone Please VERIFY this info...
All dealers will have at least 1 camaro by May 6th composed of sold order cars. The dealer has no say as to which "sold order" car GM pulls for this 1st order. They said the order will be pulled on April 16th, they will be able to see which order was pulled by April 21st, and they should have the car on their lot on or before May 6th. After that then the cars will be mass produced, and everyones orders will be filled (I presume in the order they were placed by the dealer).
This is what I'm being told...can someone (preferrably Camaro Scotty or another dealer) verify that this is the correct methodology for ordering to work? Thanks!

We have heard from various sources that all dealers will have at least one car by May 6th. I was under the impression that that car would be their V6 dealer demo car, NOT someone's sold order.
The dealer has every say as to which "sold order" gets pulled first. Let's assume that they have 5 sold orders and there are no constraints on any of those orders. GM tells them that they have one order that can be filled. It is up to the dealer to decide which of those 5 orders gets submitted. Now if there are constraints, that changes the game. Again, it is up to the dealer to decide in what order their particular orders get placed (again assuming no constraints on orders). How produced cars are distributed across the US is another topic all together. However, it is not necessarily done in the order in which they were placed. Some people who ordered on October 13th may actually get their cars after people who ordered after them. I hope this helps. |

He may have been refering to the "show room" V-6 cars. An order which gets picked up by the system will not be there by May 6.

In any case, the dealer's V6 (show/stock) car comes first like Pete and Nucar said, then pre-orders. I don't think anything has changed with that.

So at this point do we know if they are correct in saying that if the one order being pulled "could be" a sold order? #2) Are they accurate in saying it will be on the lot on or before May 6th? |

I don't see how they could wait until April 16th to start pulling one car for each dealer and then have them all built and delivered before may 6th.

i just talked to my dealer today and they said my car should be here before the "v6" showroom car, but they would like to use my SS as the unveiling car. My car's production date is 04/06/09 as reported to me by Chevy Customer Service. Currently I'm sitting on event code 3400.

2. I don't remember the original source of the information, but several people (including some dealers) have said that all dealers will have at least one car by May 6th. That is why the V6s were on constraint early on, because they were building the dealer cars. They were building them from day 1. |

Talked with the owner of the dealership last night...he said GM will pull the oldest "sold" order (which is mine) as long as its not on constraint. He said that the time frame that was mentioned April 16th (pulled), April 21st (dealer knows which order was pulled), May 6th (car on lot) sounded about right. I guess we will know soon enough.
