Independent Throttle Body?
I wus surfing on the web today and I came across this. I saw some pics of the LS1 guys running them on their cars. Just curious if its compatible with our cars also. whats the difference between this and the regular IM? what can you benefit with this set up? anybody here have this set up? Their a little pricey to they sell for $2-3k.
This would look great under the hood. wish I could afford one! lol Really don't know what its called eight stack? or Independent Throttle Body? |

ITB"s have been around for a while.. some are good some are not so good......
they bring their own nuances |

same as what you have now.. except for the linkage vs fly by wire....
its a throttle body per cylinder vs one big one.. just lets air in |

I would say do it if you enjoy changing rings and honing and or boring the cylinders on a regular basis.

thats an open debate... its allows you to run a huge cam without the issues associated with one.. but its a huge pia to tune and I'm not even sure they make them for the FBW tb.... I'd opt for the 102/102 combo but then again the newer LS7 syle one is kind of nice... its a tough call but.. I get pretty good response from my ported 102 combo.. |

No turbo either. ...unless you ran plumbing back to each TB, but good luck getting the pressure even across the banks, and I don't even want to think about what it would take to tune it... More hassle than even worth trying.

They help with idle and throttle response, because ITB setups are less sensitive to nasty things like intake port reversion. They'll sometimes generate more power over a Fast 90/90 LSX setup as well.

Not necessarily big camshafts, just the ones that match the combination.
This is a daily driver BMW with ITB system. ![]()
