since the new camaro is out and about, will we be seeing a return of the trans am? maybe? or has it been stated somewhere that this wont be happening any time soon or at all?

I think they've decided to disband the Pontiac division of GM. With all the consolidating they're doing - I believe that was one of the divisions that they will be getting rid of, unfortunately.

Pontiac, if it survives as a brand, will be some sort of niche brand -but nobody knows what niche it will fill. Probably sporty cars, probably at a slight premium.

There has been wispers that Pontiac may possibly have a chance at maybe getting another performance car but if it happens, it is more likely to be a GT0 or G8 coupe than a Firebird. That would only happen after we have a Z28 Convertible ... so don't hold your breath waiting.

Given the cost of maintaining a "brand" (especially for just a few niche models), I'm thinking Pontiac will be dead after the "good GM" emerges from the governmental bankruptcy proceedings.

But it's been in a death spiral since sometime in the 1970s.

Shame.

**IF** they ever happen to make a Firebird, there damn well better be t-tops.

they won't do t-tops on it for the same reason they didn't do it on the camaro... weight, strength, & safety
