Hurst only comes with the shifter, not the linkage.
Some pics of what you have would help |

Yes, you don't replace the bracket with the hurst. MGW does. You're fine.

Oh...
I have the aftermarket hurst and didn't replace the bracket. Just the "shaft" in the first pic. I have installed a MGW on a friends car, and it does replace the bracket in the second pic. I have no experience with the factory hurst. |

Whether its stock, factory hurst, or after-market hurst, they all go in the same way and use that same "bracket" you have pictured. Hopefully you haven't taken your "bracket" out yet...its not necessary. It might help you to go to the Hurst web-site or find it here on the forums, there is an installation video by hurst for the after market shifter. Just pretend your factory hurst is the one in the video, and you will be fine. |

I would suggest getting the bracket as it is an integral part of the shifter.

I replaced my "factory-hurst" with the after-market hurst...seemed to go ok and shift ok...what about brackets, etc. with that combo? Also I have taken out a stock shifter and it appeared identical in over-all dimenstions to the "factory hurst"...and "bracket" appeared identical. perhaps I was confused by the photos or whatever...or missed something along the way...your knowledge and assistance would be appreciated. Thanks |
