2012 shift paddles
I've been fortunate to drive (extended periods of up to
a week or more) two 2011 2ss/rs'(one of which I now own), a 2011 loaded rs, a box stock no frills 2011 LT, and am currently in possession of a 2012 rs while they tend to mine at the dealer. First off, the seat of the pants acceleration off the line is improved in the V-6, but what's really exciting is the true "paddle" shifters! These are real game changers for me. I can now leave my hands in the 2-10 o-clock on the wheel and hit the paddles. The buttons require an uncomfortable 3-9 o-clock hold of the wheel (I'm sure many like it and it's all good). So I called and said "please tell my Chevy was smart enough to make these paddles retro-fit the older wheel, and if so how much is it 'cause I want it"? I'm waiting to hear back. If anyone knows about this I'd love to hear it. It's easier and enticing to shift constantly and after five days I'm still not tired of playing with this rs. My wife and I work together and when we got in the car to come home tonight I said "I'm givin' this car a good paddling tonight".....she just rolled her eyes and agreed. |
