Barton Shifter Installed, V6
Installation went pretty well, just jacked the front up in the driveway, with a couple jack stands of course, and went by the instructions provided. (mostly!)
the one thing i did NOT do, was loosen the cross member bolts. there was plenty of room to do the job. another note; don't forget to disconnect the centering springs before attempting to push the OEM shifter out, DOH!!!!! IIRC they took an 8mm allen head to remove the anchor bolts. i did not reinstall the springs. initial reaction is very good, will need to drive it some more to get a good feel for it, especially since i installed a pistol grip shift handle at the same time. |

Do you think that reinstalling the springs would make a difference?

it feels pretty solid without them, installing them might make it feel a bit more rigid, but i am liking it so far. not sure why the V6 has them and the V8 not??

You will not want to touch the aluminum on a hot summer day either.
