Am I the only one who didn't care for the SS after driving it?

With all these v6 to v8 upgrade threads I got the fever myself. Saturday night on our way home from the Virginia Tech game we stopped by to actually look at the ZL1 in the showroom since I had never seen one in person before.

They had an Orange 13' 2 SS in the parking lot so I was like what the hell I have been thinking let me try it out. The salesman at first didn't want to me to take it out until I corrected him on some wrong info he tried to give me about the car.

I start it up, sounds wonderful, then I take it out on the access road to I-81 south which is about 2 miles long before it merges onto the interstate, speed limit is 70 so I let her go, get up to 80 in no time and cruise down 81 for 5 miles until the first north access exit i find. I didn't feel that same excitement I did when I first drove my v6 for the first time. My wife felt the same way, i return it back to the dealer and told him. He was surprised but appreciated me being honest with him.

The Ford showroom was next door so he told me to take out a Mustang GT and see if I felt any different. Took out a 2012 GT premium convertible on the same drive i took the SS, same feeling, no excitement factor at all. He was surprised again and thanked him for the drives, didn't waste too much of his time, he was doing paperwork while i took both cars out.

I thought it was weird that I felt no excitement other than I loved how each of them sounded. Anybody else ever felt like this or I am weirder than I thought I was

So if you felt no excitement driving two cars considerably more powerful than your own Camaro, how do you REALLY feel driving yours? Just an honest question.

While I normally stay out of these kinds of threads..... I can't resist the temptation here.

You drove a newer, more pwerful version of your own car. And you didn't care for it?

i kinda experienced the same thing. i recently took a trip out of state and rented an SS. i was kinda hoping for more from the SS. it felt almost identical to my v6. it just made me wish i found a way to bring mine instead. lol.

Maybe you really don't want to feel it. Or your fever was not real. Or your happy with what you got.

Never owned or driven a v6 .. ummm... mustang or camaro (was about to say muscle car, but v6 implies a lack of muscle).

BUT! I can say I went to buy a '13 Mustang GT and came home with a '10 Camaro 2SS.

I do have a Taurus SHO (and had it before I got the Camaro and still have it), but it has shown many not so muscle camaros and mustangs the tail lights. LOL.
