Some early tuning results for the LFX

Thought you LFX owners might want to see this. I will ask to please not crowd up his thread with too many questions.

Starting with post number 88 on this page:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...=258249&page=4

He cautions that it is little more than testing and dyno runs at this point and nothing concrete, but it looks very promising to me. I'm excited and I'm not even an LFX owner. He is going to turbos soon so he won't be seeing the potential of an NA LFX all the way through. That is up to one you out there

Of course if you do this you run the risk of losing your powertrain warranty alltogether....but thats just the way it is.

Wow....no responses.

Does 20 - 30 or more HP from just a tune not get you guys talking???

If this were the LLT there'd be two pages of comments by now. 2 days of tuning yielded better results than we've seen for the LLT in years.....but hopefully IPF will have something to say about that for us LLT guys.

That'd be awesome if IPF can provide their gains just on their tune....but it sucks for us trifecta guys because i was told by IPF we have to send our ECU to them to take the trifecta software off....not to mention spend more money on another tune

Was an interesting read. I don't think any1 wants to void their warranty. We need to get something like the diablo. Where you can take it out when your going to get service. Is impressive that it didn't take em that long either.

May want to contact Jesse with IPF again as I was told that may not need to be done any longer for those with Trifecta.

Yes the cost sucks, but if you pick up another 10 - 20 (just using a random number) then thats no more cost than what it would be to pay for a bolt on that likely wouldn't get any better results.

Just my .02

Really? i might just do that...because i was thinking about getting their SC but the idea of sending my ecu somewhere is not going to happen lol I'll shoot Jesse a PM regarding that.

I agree, that would be awesome especially with all the things they would be able to tune like headers...maybe even the fueling issues we have on boosted applications?.

Would attune do anything for a 6speed? I really thought they only did great things for automatics.

This is both true and false. The reason most say it makes a bigger impact on an auto is because shift points can be adjusted and.shift firmness can be increased for a more performance feel. But any power gains would be the same whether u got an auto or manual

They send a tuning module to you now so that you can upload the tune.

The ipf kit is having no fueling issues on their supercharger.

In four posts, you lost 10 hp at the top and bottom end (random or not, sounds like it's all just hearsay and speculation).

It's definitely interesting for sure. Hope an easy solutions is made for the rest of us LFX users to be able to get a tune without destroying our warranty.

With all the torque converter issues floating around I think everyone is scared to void anything yet.

At least I am. I wanna wait till I see a high mileage (around 70,000) before I start voiding things. I'd hate to have something bite me in the rear.

Palmer, I don't understand your comment.

At the beginning here, I pointed out a thread where 25 HP was gained using a tune and there may still be more to be had. The dyno information and graphs are there. There is nothing hearsay about that.

As far as my response to the guy that has Trifecta, all I'm saying is that if the IPF tune is good for another 10 or 20 HP over Trifecta, then it is well worth the cost in my mind. Trifecta has never came close to showing 25HP gains on a stock car before.

Diablo said there isn't enough demand and gains for them to construct a tune. I say horse shit. There seems to be enough demand and the charts don't lie on the gains. I think we need to bombard diablo until they do somethin about it.
