Question Seat Belt Straps

I've done a Forum search and it's popped up more than once as a gripe by more than one of the members, but I've not seen a solution posted yet...

I'm 6'2" and really enjoy taking a ride in the '12 LT2 RS- It's more of a whine really, but the seatbelt strap rubs up against my neck (my head is nearly to the headliner), not much I can do to compensate with my seating position. That darn magnet on the end of the strap is too weak to hold the strap down, it pops loose about every time I put the belt on or lean forward in the car.

I was thinking about finding a button rare earth magnet to put in the middle of those to beef up the connection, but is there a more elegant solution out there?

Talking More details....

Thanks Guys,

I do like the pads- I'll be looking for a set of those. But I think the root of the problem is that silly strap magnet. The magnet and it's mate appear to be riveted in place. When I mentioned beefing up the magnet I'm thinking of something like this- http://apexmagnets.com/index.php?mai...roducts_id=324

Would make it a bit thicker- 1/4th inch but with a 12.2 pound pull force, maybe super glue to attach it to the metal plate under the strap, might just work....

By the way, this forum has turned into a major score for me, you guys (and gals) ROCK!

I have never put my seatbelts through the straps and they fit with no problem. Don't know how that might work for you, though.

Mission Accomplished

Ordered up the magnetic disks I posted earlier- Here's some pics-
Might do black plasticoat and attach them if they shift around but I just let the magnets do the job without adhesive and I have to say much better- I can pull the belt all the way out without issue.

Heck no- if it works for you that's great. I've got a full abdominal hernia and I think that might shift where the belt crosses my shoulder - It rubs against the left side of my neck. If it stayed down I'd not worry about it either. My other Chevy has a sliding post anchor that helps- The Camaro does not.

I'm 6'2" and have no problems with my seatbelt rubbing on me. Obvious suggestion is to check how you sit in the seat.

Thank you. I just ordered the magnets for myself. I don't wear the seatbelt because I gave up because they were always popping out of the straps.

I'm 6'04 350lbs BTW

What a great idea! I'm interested in ordering those magnets for my seat belts too. Could you post exactly which ones you used (sku number) so I could make sure I'm ordering the right size?
