DIY: change your dome light to any color - cheap

Here's an easy one. Get yourself a Rosco gel swatch book. About $6.50 with shipping from B&H photo. It literally has about 200 different filter samples in it, for use with high heat theater lights. There are also diffusers in this pack that can dim your too bright light.

If it doesn't have the exact color you are looking for, you can combine 2 or more lighter shades together into the color that you want.

Just remove the dome light cover, and tape the filter into place. You can also buy larger filter sheets for more coverage, but they run about $14 with shipping.

Even cheaper to take a colored sharpie and color it. I took a red one, put a few "coats" on it and once it's dry stick it back in there. It matches my red footwell lights perfectly. $0 mod right there if you already have the sharpie.

Replacing it with an LED or coloring it with a sharpie is fine, if you can get the color you want. If you want something unique, you can forget about the 2 above options.

Not to mention you can pick from tons of colors in hand, and re-use or change color pretty much any time.

Thanks for the quick tip Yzark
