1LE Tire and Wheel Info
Rather than spend hours scanning the hundreds of pages in the 1LE forum, I thought it would be nice to have a thread where basic information about the 1LE tires and wheels could be referenced.
There is a lot of good info in the 1LE sub forum along with other sub forums on Camaro5, and I'll try to pull some of it into this thread so you don't drive yourself crazy looking for the right thread to answer your question. I'll link to other threads and to specific posts when possible. This will be a work in progress and I welcome input! Tire and Wheel Specs: Tires; 285/35ZR20 front and rear. OEM is Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2 (100y) for 2013 model year. The tires are side specific (left or right), and weigh 31 lbs per tire. Overall dia. is 27.9" * weight and dia. info borrowed from TireRack.com* Wheels; 10" front, 11" rear width: Offset; Front: 23mm, Rear: 43mm (stamped on the back side of the wheels) Here's a thread on the ZL1 forums that addresses factory offsets: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...factory+offset Cold Weather Warning for Goodyear Tires: Our OEM tires are summer tires and are built for grip, they are not good in very heavy downpours (I know from experience), or very cold temperatures. Here is a specific post which includes a service bulletin; http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...38&postcount=5 Relearning the TPMS: Our cars seem to fall under the "you must use a TPMS (Tire pressure monitoring system) relearn tool" category when it comes to changing tire and wheel sets around. Your experience may vary. Here is the link to a thread which talks a bit about this and has a source for the purchase of said tool. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136093 Looking For a Different Size Tire? Are you looking for a tire that will fit on your 1LE, but want to explore different sizes? Maybe you want to buy that winter set, and can't get the exact size match on those DWS's. Here's a post in this thread which contains a link with some size options and how they compare. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...2&postcount=17 Here's a site that contains many great calculators and tools to aid in your search. This is posted as a research tool, so I recommend you consult with your tire dealer about fitment, etc. before making your final buying decision. https://tiresize.com/calculator/ Should I Use a Drive Through Car Wash? http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ght=wheel+care Look closely at posts #1 and #10 Hiding that Curb Rash on Your Brand New $1,000 Wheel http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=326671 When You Want to See How the Other Kids Do it: A nicely done sub forum with tons of info about ZL1 tires and wheels; ZL1 Tires/Wheels http://www.camaro5.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=156 More to come

The stock tires are 285/35zr20's, and my experience (and knowledge) is in off-road tire fitment. That said, with the wide wheels in the back, has anyone tried to run 285/30zr20's? Will the extra inch of wheel width and loss of 14mils of sidewall pull the bead off the wheel or put the sidewall at too severe of an angle? I can get brand new ps2's for $130/tire so I think it's worth asking the question... search didn't come up with anything useful.

I narrowed down the selection, took out all the speed rated tires less than 149mph.

Did you guys know that the 1le wheels are specific to each corner of the car meaning that u can not fit a rear 1le wheel on the front.....the wheels are different part#s but the tire is the same size....just figured this out

There is a right and a left for the tires.... don't think there is also front and back. Can you give more of the info you found? Part numbers? The wheels are different sizes 10in up front and 11in out back.

Correct, wheels are 20x10 for the front and 20x11 for the rear, same as the ZL1. Only difference is the ZL1 runs a larger tire in the rear, with the 1LE they stayed with the same size tire as the front to eliminate the understeer.

Has anyone looked into optional size limitations? Not sure if changing things like this would be all that wise but it would be interesting to see if there's a more common sized tire out there which is cheaper/more available than the standard size. Just a thought.
