LFX forged internals and trans mods

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forums so I hope I'm doing this correctly. Anyway, I have a 2012 v6 with an STS turbo, methanol kit, dual stage boost controller, a zex nitrous kit which I use in conjunction with a boost referencing progressive nitrous controller to almost totally eliminate turbo lag. Right now I only run 7 psi and a small shot of nitrous (65). I would like to turn both up but feel I need forged internals, I know RX makes them but can't seem to find pricing or availability info anywhere. Also could anyone point me in the direction of how to beef up the M6 trans, and fuel system to support more power. Not that it should matter much but other mods include a spec stage 2 clutch, aluminum flywheel, pfadt coil overs, 20" ruff racing wheels with 295 tires in the back and six piston brembo gt brakes.

Your signature says 2LS wouldn't that be an automatic or did you swap it out for a M6?

The 2LS is just a trim package as far as I know, it definatly came with a manual and I bought it brand new off the showroom floor. That's what all the paperwork called it from the dealer and what the keys were marked as when they handed them over. Perhaps this was just a mistake on the dealers part. Any suggestions to help this powertrain meet my needs would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking into forged internals too so I can step up to a 100 shot. I'm probably going to have the local dyno shop do this one though.

As far as I know the RX rods and pistons have never been seen by anyone. R&R made my forged rods. Both Wiseco and Diamond made me 10:1 CR forged pistons. Wiseco also has a hardended ring package to work with their pistons. It isn't cheap.

I don't think you will have problems with the Rods at 7psi and a 65 shot, but the pistons probably need to get swapped out. I used my stock rods up until about 600 RWHP/RWTQ and then they failed in a fabulous manner. However I'm all boost and no spray with a 4000 stall so I may be hitting it harder than you will on more boost and spray. Only you can make the call, but if I were you I would do both rods and pistons while you are in there.

You don't need forged parts to spray a 100 shot. Hell you don't even need a tune

I also wouldn't trust the RX performance forged parts. No ones seen them and they've been flaunting that they have them forever yet no proof was ever actually posted.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. Looks like I'm gonna have to give wiseco a call. I'm out of town right now, but I should be able to get some pics up by the end of next week if anyone is still interested in checking out the car.

Nice build! At your current boost, you should be fine, but if you want to start pushing it harder your going to have to follow GretchensGotGrowl's advice. He is the man with the most experience with this type of thing on here, so trust what he has to tell you.

Don't go with RX products....just don't.

Heck...your good to go as is unless you plan on hitting the juice day after day after day. Just get a proper setup and don't worry about it. Guys have used 75 - 100 or more with no tune. One guy even broke into the high 11s at the 1/4 mile track with no tune and nitrous.

So now that I have my answer for the forged internals, does anyone know of a way to allow the trans to take more power, or to get more volume from the fuel system? I know ZL1 pumps are available and not too expensive, but I can never get a straight answer out of anyone selling them as to wether or not they are plug and play or need an aftermarket fuel pump control module or other supporting more. Tell them you want the package the made for Aaron at Gwatney Performance Innovations (GPI). You will get a little worse MPG with the lower compression, so you may want to ask them about options for compression ratios.
