Climate control not working.

This morning I start the car and turn the heat on, after stopping for gas I try to turn the heat down and it doesn't respond. Just keeps blowing hot air at the same setting. I noticed that none of the lights are lit, no buttons or dials respond. I shut the car off a couple times waiting at lights and still nothing. So I'm stuck with the climate control at my last setting. Anyone have this issue or know a fix for it?

White_SS/RS,

Very sorry to hear about the climate control and this concern may warranty an official diagnosis at your dealer. While I understand that you're seeking opinions of this matter, we're also here if you need additional assistance. Feel free to send me a message if needed.

Unresponsive Climate Control

My 2010 2SS/RS L99 exhibits the same thing occasionally except the lights still work and the Fan Speed is still adjustable. The A/C, the temp control and selector are inoperable. I turn everything off and hear a faint "tick.....tick.....tick" coming from inside the dash.
I'm afraid to take it to the Seaview Buick GMC (formerly Seaview Chevrolet) in Lynnwood, WA. because the last time I brought it in to have the Lifter Ticking noise inspected, they charged me for the warranty visit and said it was normal!. I am in the process of filing a formal complaint with GM on that.
I guess I need to find another dealer before my warranty runs out and I'm SOL.

I just had the same issue today. I left home it was working then after starting the car after short stop it wouldnt work. No lights were on indicating which direction the air was flowing. The temperature could not be changed. I stopped again tried to shut down and restart, did not work. The after few hours of i tried again and it works again.

No harm done, just a very warm drive to work today.

My 2014 1LE is 13 days old and this just happened to me also. I called the dealer and they were already closed for the evening. I guess I'll be paying them a visit tomorrow morning. Has anyone had any luck with the dealer diagnosing this issue or is that going to be a waste of time?

I realize how displeasing it can be when faced with a concern like this DrivinLikeABoss, and though you're seeking thoughts and opinions, I would be happy to communicate this situation with your dealer's designated Customer Experience Manager. Feel free to message us privately if you'd like to proceed, or discuss this situation further.

This has happened to me about half a dozen times to me this year already on my 14' V6. I am going back to the dealer for the third time "officially on paper". I have already contacted GM, which have been very helpful, and they got me in contact with the district manager, which she has been helpful as well. Well needless to say, the car is going back in Tuesday for the third time to try to fix the problem. Although my issue is turning the A/C on and nothing responds from the control panel, I have to cycle the key off and back on for the blower motor and compressor to turn on. I love my car and fortunately this isn't an issue that is causing the car not to drive, it is just a very big hassle having to cycle the key at a red light in the middle of traffic.

Charged you for a look-see? Some dealer want to go out of business, apparently.

Same problem on my 2014 Camaro. No lights on air controls. Stuck at fan speed that was on when lights went out and air conditioning was on. Was able to adjust the hot or cold. shut car off and restarted and still not working. Car sat for a few hours and all was working again.

2014 V6 Used 11000 miles. Air turned on its self twice. Than lights went out on air controls on another occasion and could not turn off air or adjust air speed or select air flows. The hot and cold control worked for me though. I guess I will forever drive with the air on and blower setting at five in 90 plus degree weather. Lots of guys having this problem GM. Lets give the engineers a little OT. to problem solve this issue for us.

Good afternoon mort1255,

I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this ongoing concern with the climate control in your Camaro. Have you brought this to the attention of your dealer? If you’d like to have it looked at, I’d be happy to reach out to your preferred dealer to schedule a service appointment. Please send a private message if you’re interested.

Best,
Lauren E

2014 2SS/RS - 16600K mileage (driven 5000k in 18 months). Hvac controls completely dead - used them 3 days ago and all worked fine. Heated seat controls also don't work. Stopped at dealer while this was happening so they could see it in real time and not try to reproduce it at a service appt. 2 Techs seems miffed about it so have appt to get it checked this coming week. Seems to be an issue that GM needs to start looking at. My dealership guys were awesome today - have confidence all will be great after appt. - they've always treated me incredibly well when I've gone in there.

UPDATE ON SERVICE APPT:
GM has a bulletin out on this, but basically it's to do a hard battery reset and suggested cycling the key, they did a software update also. Although, a temp resolution - the controls can crap out again and at that point, dealer said to bring it in again. Interesting enough, the controls worked after the car had sat for a couple hours when I got home, started it up and all was normal. Mentioned an open relay, mechanic didn't think that would be it due to the computer board that runs the controls. I guess it's just a waiting game to see if this happens again or not.

HVAC climate control not working, my climate control system stopped working for no reason, no response to controls or buttons no lights on control system, no status on MyLink radio display.

I discovered that the HVAC controller fuse had come loose apparently due to vibration, I removed the fuse and it came out very easily checked it and it was ok, when I put it back in everything started working normally. I removed the fuse again as a yest but this time it was harder to remove, everything stopped working again. replace fuse everything works normal.

The fuse is number F5 in the Instrument panel fuse box.
