Adams and Zaino products seem to be popular choices as far as "systems" but many others have used a combination of other products together. Depends if you want showcar shine or something durable and don't have to go snake-sh*t when you see a dust particle land on the fender.
I've used Zaino for years and I'm happy with the shine and durability. But recently I have bought some Adams to try as well. Regardless of the products you use, it's just like a good paint job- make corrections to the base as necessary. That's the key to a good shine regardless of the product to protect it.

As far as protection goes, our 2002 Z28 we've had since new still shines well with periodic Zaino treatments since day 2 of ownership from the dealer. And it lived 99% of its life out in the driveway and hot sun of the south. So I'm a firm believer of Zaino helping preserve a "yard" car paint job. It's all the car has ever had, and the paint still shines extremely well. And it's metallic pewter.
Oh, and you had a question about the windscreen too. I'm assuming you want to leave the screen installed but lay down the top of the screen. Just grab the bar and give it a firm push back and the top should lay down. (it has a detent system so you should hear an audible click)

For wax I use Eagle 1 or Meguiar's. I wax about every 6 weeks, so between waxes I just use Meguiar's Detailing spray for a beautiful, added shine. It doesn't last as long as wax, but takes a lot less time to apply (spray it on, wipe it dry). For the windows I use Invisible Glass.

as far as waxes are concerned, quality products: Meguiar's, Zaino, Adam's -- it's dealer's choice. For tires, however,
I use Adam's Super VRT dressing because it won't fly off the tires as i drive and dirty my white car.

Black Fire Wet Diamond wax is the best I've used. And it's endorsed by Camaro Dreams 007 in his comprehensive product recommendation guide, which is a good source of info for all car care products. See the sticky at top of forum.

The windscreen is easy to manipulate even while driving. I use Zaino on the exterior but just recently got exposed to Adams for interior cleaning and leather protectant. Good stuff.

You can, as previously stated, push the windscreen down. This has been how I put mine back when I have the top up, its night and I realize I can't see thru the back well enough. But I would caution against it. If you can, use the red tab behind the drivers seat, its located where the vertical and horizontal pieces come together. I say this because my windscreen is starting to wear. It is sliding apart (the tubes from the corners) as well as the plastic foot that 'clicks' in as the hinge bending itself outwards.
Looking for higher quality windscreen and tonneau. :/ |
