Spark Plugs and Powertrain Warranty
Are spark plugs covered by GM 5 year/100,000 mile Powertrain warranty? If so, do I have to pay for Chevy to replace them?

No, not the Powertrain warranty.
They are covered under 2 warranties. 1. 2 year 24,000 mile emissions warranty. 2. 3 year 36,000 mile Bumper to Bumper warranty. Since the B2B is longer, # 1 really doesn't mean much. Unless you modded, totalled... the car had the warranty voided. The emissions warranty cannot be voided. If you're under 100,000ish miles really shouldn't need plugs, unless something else is wrong. And if that something else is covered under the Powertrain warranty, then the plugs could be included as collateral damage from a covered part. Use to be a dealer tech many years ago, and have these useless facts burned into my brain. Every once in a while, can be usefull. |
