AH! the cold has returned, my battery is dying
The cold is back and with a vengeance in the NY area. My battery is dying yet again. Last year when the first cold snap hit the factory OEM battery crapped out too quick. I jumped started it once or twice and it came back to life, but only temporary. In the end it was off to Sears for a replacement. Now that the cold has returned the attack on zapping my battery in my ZL1 has resumed, so wrong on so many levels. My only course of action to save the battery this winter is a battery tender. I am running an industrial extension cord out of my house right to the battery tender I carefully placed in the trunk. It looks ridiculous, this orange cord trailed to the rear, but its the only option I have to keep my ZL1 charged and ready in the event I want to take a ride if there is a break in the cold.
Does anyone have any additional advice, to keep the battery charged during the winter??? Thanks in advance |

I had the same problem so I bought a Ctek battery charger (best one imo) and connect it to the remote terminals under the hood.

I always use a battery tender for the winter.
