People are waiting on the 6th gen camaro now (firesales coming for the 5th gen). 2015 Mustang sales is to be expected same as challengers.

i think it's too early for people to be waiting on the 16 camaro. Mustang killed it. All the anticipation for the new mustang plus massive rebates on the older ones to flush them out ....

With less than a 10 day supply of Mustangs that means there is a big shortage so once the supply reaches a more reasonable 30 day mark, the Mustang will easily sell 10,000+ a month for awhile. The Challenger will never outsell the Mustang.

But I thought no one was going to like the new Mustang and that it will fail.....

On a side note not shocked at all that the Mustang had such a strong month, no doubt it it will sell strongly for a bit of time.

Apologist. I expect the 2015 Camaro to be the worst-selling model year of the 5th Gen.

- The redesigned Mustang
- The recent Hellcat press
- The 2014 Camaro redesign that the only thing it had going for it was "freshness" (that is now mostly worn off)
- The 6th Gen coming down the pike
- The 5th Gen simply being in its 6th model year

With all that piling up, there isn't much driving a push people to buy what consistent strong sales have turned into the "me too" sports car. The thing the Camaro had always going for it is that "everyone had a Mustang." It was unique. Now, everyone has a Camaro. It is just the most boring car out of the three listed, so sales probably won't be stellar in 2015. Its future success will hinge on Chevrolet's redesign of the 6th gen...which could either rekindle the love or totally botch. Time will tell.

According to Motor Trend Ford stated much of the sales increase was due to huge discounts on the leftover 13's and 14's.
But even at that I expected the new Mustang sales to jump for the first few months.

Here are some reasons, the sh..t will catch up to GM if they don't fix this stuff for the 6th gen

1) Very little factory support for performance upgrades---i.e., ford has factory warrantied performance paks for V8 and V6 models--not only suspension but engine performance and superchargers

2) A much better pallete of colors

3) Many more options for customization

4) At times significant rebates on different models

5) Special models that are much more than an appearance package.

Need to step up the game. LS3 should have been updated, LSA should have been updated, V6 should have had performance options

Just sayin...

That I will agree with. EVERYONE and their grandmother has a camaro now. You can drive down any street in any major city and see 5 camaros at a time all the time. Im sure though the 2015 mustang will be eveywhere again too. Thats one of the reasons I personally like the 2013-14 5.0s you dont see that many to be honest.

I've seen two of those new Mustangs on the street. Not sure how much of that jump was the new Mustangs, but if it is then it's expected.

When I was shopping for my used 2013, I was surprised how much cheaper a new 2014 1SS was than a used 2013 2SS. I got my car for a great deal, but I could've gotten a NEW 2014 for the same price.

I really think the luster has completely worn off the Camaro due to age. It is comparatively dated and underpowered, and even after a year I can't get behind the 2014/2015's stance from the rear. I think not many 2015's will be made. I'm hoping GM hits it out of the park with the 2016. Give me something lighter with 19" wheels, fix the mistake done to the rear and increase sideview mirror visibility and I don't think much else will need to be done other than a couple more ponies under the hood. 200 lbs lighter, an extra 20-30 horsepower and 19" wheels instead of 20" wheels would do WONDERS to the performance of the car straight off the showroom floor. That would knock probably 0.8 seconds off the ET.

This isn't too surprising. The new Mustang is finally hitting dealers and I'm sure the early demand is still not yet fulfilled. They will most likely have another month or two of higher then normal sales for the season then they will smooth out some. The Camaro is down a bit due to that and the fact that most people aren't shopping for a sports car right now that they could have picked up at a dealer months ago. The challenger I'm sure is helped by the Hellcat a bit (not much) and the fact that it's been recently tweaked and has been on a strong uptick for a while. The Camaro will loose ground for the next two months but once they unveil the 2016 the Mustang will be have a much harder time. If the ATS-V stats are any indication the new Camaro will be very quick.
