SS exhaust rumble, #32351

I picked up my 2SS/RS yesterday and have driven it less than 100 miles so far. I have heard 3 or 4 other SS Camaros and none of them have the deep rumble of mine. Believe me I'm not complaining, Its great. At an idle or under exceleration I would swear I had an exhaust upgrade. Has anyone else noticed differences in stock SS exhausts ?.

There are difference is Manual and auto. Manual does have a deep sound. That could be it.

Mine is an A6. At one cruise night a couple months ago I heard an SS with the manual trans and at idle and you could hardly hear it.

Glad you are happy with your stock system. We weren't and had the Corsa cat back system installed two days ago, what a great sounding difference!!

The A6's L99 has a different less loud register than the LS3. At idle it should be very quiet in comparison. All A6 L99 should sound exactly the same unless your muffler has a screw loose in it or isn't functioning as intended. If you like the sound, then don't take it to get fixed..Simple as that..

Mine has a real nice Growl to it when going through the gears, not as much as my Z06 but very noticeable, I love it.

I tend to agree. They may have been autos that you heard...

Having ridden in Thor, I will say that at normal speeds it's still pretty quiet.

i'm starting to think the same thing...almost as if these later production models are sounding nicer stock...

here's a video my dad and best friend made for me of the exhaust (since they picked up the car for me since i'm out of the country right now)...it's completely stock and doesn't have the gmpp exhaust kit or anything, yet it sounds pretty sweet!

it's an M6 by the way...
