Hurst Shifter

Anyone here have any experience with the Hurst Shifter. I love the ZL 1 shifter but I am old school and want the chrome handle and the white shift knob. Does it shift just as good, is it an install nightmare?

I cant speak for Hurst, but I put a Barton short throw shifter on a 2010 SS. You can get the chrome handle and white knob with that. The shifter was a great improvement over the factory one. But again can't speak about how the hurst shifter feels. The biggest install obstacle was the dust boot that covered the bottom. If it didnt get put on exactly right it was going to eventually come off.

I personally love the way the factory ZL1 shifter feels. To me it is better than the Barton shifter. It has a short throw and is very smooth. I would not change it, even though I loved the way the chrome handle and the black engraved knob I had looked. To me it would be going backwards.

Love mine. Works great.

Reminds me of the shifter I had in my 92' RS Camaro.

I went with an MGW flat stick with 8 ball style knob. Huge improvement in looks and feel over stock. Install wasn't awful but it's not fun, either.

I've had the Hurst in my ZL1 for about 5,000 miles, including 4 track days. It gets smoother every time I drive it. Could not be happier with this mod. Easy DIY project. PM me if you have any questions.

Much better than the stock shifter!

I love the looks, and the feel for regular driving... but I hate it for racing @ the track you have to shift really slow or it grinds terribly.

Anybody have the part number to the shifter? I'm about to order one before I go back out to the field.
