Top latch/lock issue

The top latch that you twist to lock and unlock the top does not seat all the way into the insert, once locked. It is locking, but the handle itself does not seat into where it should seat flush anymore. This just happened over the weekend and I am wondering if anyone here has any idea what this could be or mean? I hate to take it in to the dealer again, and be away from my car for another 2 weeks or so. Nobody likes trips to the dealer anyway.

I would make sure the area it seats in and the wells on the top of the windshield where the hooks seat are clean. Does it seat properly when you're putting the top down (not touching the windshield)?

Yes I checked those areas and it is locked, but the latch will not close all the way, like it was before. I think it may need some sort of adjustment.

Hmmm, never had this happen on my 2011 - at least yet. I would think it's an adjustment.

Never an issue here. Just out of curiosity do you stow the handle after unlocking and prior to letting the top fold down into the well? I always stoe mine..

I do place it back into the lock position when letting it down.

Dealer got a new tech who is familiar with tops. The lock not popping back into the detent is a broken part, he said metal fatigue. They are replacing the latch/lock and trim piece under warranty.
