afterburner ligth question
The afterburner tail lights were in the car when i bought it. It recently started to flash really fast and a warning comes up on the dash. I turn the signal on and 5 to 10 seconds later it starts going crazy. I got out and watched it happen from outside the car and the pattern doesn't change at all, just speeds up. Other threads with stock lights doing the same thing said check the bulb and make sure they are tight. Is this the same thing with these? I'm not the biggest fan of them so to change them back to stock wouldn't bother me.

Most of the time with stock type tail lights it would be a ground causing this, however if the is a flasher you might be able to replace with a heavy duty flasher, but I am not sure if this uses a flasher or not. I will look at fuse panel and see, but it may be controlled by Body controller. So you would be on right track to double check connections and grounds, etc.

I would agree with that. The weird part is that it doesn't start acting up right away. It takes a few seconds to start being weird. I'll have to do some digging i guess.

The BCM is detecting an incorrect resistance on the turn indicator circuit. It flashes at a normal rate for a few seconds and then fast flashes. Do all of your turn indocator bulbs, front and back, illuminate? You can check them by turning on your hazard switch.

The 4 ways work just fine, I wondered that too so I checked. Only time there is an issue is when the left signal is on. Front left bulb is ok.

I haven't seen the afterburner tail lamps in person, but I assume the led ring blinks instead of the regular bulb correct? The BCM isn't seeing the correct current draw for the circuit and is fast blinking to indicate a bulb outtage. Usually to compensate for an LED replacement of an incandescent bulb a resistor is wired in to put the correct resistance and satisfy the current draw the BCM is looking for. Remove the trunk panel that is above the left taillamps and see if the resistor has come loose. Worst case is you return to stock lamps being as you don't care for the afterburners anyway.
