Trans Fluid Leak M6 Help!

I was getting on the highway this afternoon, hammered through the gears 1st to 4th shifting about 5500rpm and looked back in the rearview mirror and all I could see was a cloud of white smoke??? I immediately pulled over and popped the hood, no oil anywhere on the motor but I could see it dripping under the car...

I checked the dipstick and fired the car back up good oil pressure and drove it about 10 min to my buddies shop. We put it on the lift and the entire transmission was covered with a bunch on top, of course it was all over the headers and exhaust. The flywheel is completely dry so we don't think it's the rear main. When we cracked the fill plug on the transmission it poured out, I know it shouldn't when it's cold but it was still hot maybe a 1 cup drained out.

We gave it a good clean with degreaser and fired it up and looked for leaks, nothing visible??

My question is could the transmission have been over filled and just been blowing out the breather on top?

Also with the car at idle you can feel a bit of air blowing out the breather is that normal?
