I'm using black magic titanium tire wet gel and was wondering if you're just suppose to wipe down the side of the tire or the tread also. I also have tire wet spray but the tread area looked ash Gray again after a 20 minute drive.
The sides still look really good but you turn a tire you can easily notice the shiny black to ash gray transition..

Any tips?

only do the sides if u notice after you drive the car the gel will spread over the entire sidewall. its a great product

also if u do the tread when u drive its going to sling stuff on your car

I only apply tire dressing to the treads while parked at shows.

Be careful when first starting to drive if you do the treads, gonna be slick as snot, it's pretty pointless unless at a show anyway as it will wear off while driving. Unless you find a road with no dirt.

I only wipe tire shine on the sides up to the point where the sides meet tread. It will splash onto the side of the car if you put too much. Applying it too far up the side of the tire can cause slippage of the wheels when you turn.

Black Magic Titanium is excellent, but if you get any of this on the tread and drive thru the slightest amount of water, it will sling onto the rocker and lower portion of the car and will be difficult to remove. I have learned from personal experience.

You should consider trying Black Magic Titanium Matte Tire Finish. I'm using it on my car and it dries quick and does not sling at all.
