Opinions on street tires for good takeoff from a stop.

I am needing something better that the P Zeros. Something that won't spin as much on takeoff . Trying to find something worth buying over the PZeros without being a drag radial. Reason I don't want a drag radial is I occasionally drive in the rain. And I don't want the tires busting out from heating too much on a long drive. let me know your experiences. I posted a couple examples of ones I found that look like they might work. I am talking mainly street. I might go to the track about twice a year.

Don't think you'll find a huge difference. The ZR1/1LE Goodyears I'm sure are a bit more grippy but mileage will be worse. Overall, Michelin Pilot Sports are hard to beat.

Launching from a stop puts the most stress on your vehicle. I try to avoid it.

Due to the stiffness of the very short sidewall, the GY are not the best choice for launching, and with little to no tread to start with, the life will be super short if burnouts are a part of the picture. A great cornering tire. Not so much straight line launch.

Falken Aziens 295 40 20s in the rear for 2 summers. I have 391s and these tires perform great.....20 or more passes down the strip and lots of summer driving and these tires still have lots of life. Now i have a stall in stepping up to Nitto 555r drag radials.

What about some comp 2s or invos? These are what im looking at for mine. Seems like good tread life and good compound. Anyone wanna chime in on these 2 types?

I replaced the p-zero's with a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports and haven't looked back. The grip is outstanding. These things even have bite from a stop when it's raining.

They are also on my list already. So they were pretty good for racing from a dig? Better than PZeros? I have gotten two comments on a separate posts for the 555r by two guys who know what they are talking about. I'm not being stubborn. I'm listening. Just would love to find something that isn't a drag radial that takes off almost like one. I don't even care too much about how they wear out fast. I just want to be able to still drive on trips. And some drag radials heat up on long trips and can blow out. Also don't want to find myself hitting rain and end up spinning with my gal in the car.

BFG Comp2 A/S hook just fine for me and are excellent in the rain. What type of hp are you pushing?

Softer tire with a bigger sidewall on a smaller rim size will do the trick.

I'm gonna jump up to 295's at some point in the future....stock rims are somewhat okay for that size.
