Grill overlay....yes or no??
I'm thinking about putting a grill overlay on my 2011 SS2, any thoughts? Its black powdercoat, basic mesh. Do you think you can see the original grill thru it? How about the SS symbol, wondering if its going to fit over that?

Can you post a picture of the overlay so we have a better idea of what you are looking at?

I have seen some that look good, but none that I would put on MY car.
Plus, you are only adding weight and reducing airflow at that point, since the original grill is staying on. If I do anything with mine, it will be to either replace it with the ZL1 grill or color matched Heritage grill.

I just put a grill overlay on my stock ls v6.....not same car as yours. I'm happy with how mine turned out. I will try my best to post a pick later. I got the farrus industry's black powder coated one. the skulls and flames one love the look. The fitment was about 90% good. I had to do some work to bend the metal to get 99% fitment.
One thing I will say with the grill overlays is in the right light people will see its a grill on top of a grill. I plan to buy some flat bar. Bend that up drill and mount just that on my car. Prob going to put some mesh behind it as well. For 117$ I can't complain with my grill I got I'm very happy with it. |
