Hello! I have been a light lurker over the years, but nothing serious. I was always an "F-body" fan in my younger years, though admittedly I was drawn more towards the Pontiacs. My first car was a 1981 trans am, that my dad and I rebuilt a pontiac 6.6L for. I have loved v8 power ever since!
In early 2011, I had a 2004 GTO with the LS1 and 6 speed. It was my baby, and I loved it. Sadly, soon after we found out we were going to have an actual baby, and she unfortunately had to go so that we could get something more practical for our new family. I told myself that once we got to a point in life where it was feasible, that I would have something fun again. That time, my new friends, is now. I have loved the 5th gen Camaro's since the day I first saw leaked photos of them. I knew eventually I would have one in the garage. We have spent the last 3-4 years (and child #2) scraping by as we put my wife through nursing school. Now, it appears to have paid off... I have somehow convinced her that since we are back on 2 feet, a 2 door sports car was absolutely something we needed to buy! Last weekend, I found her!2010 Camaro 2SS/RS - Aqua Blue Metallic, LS3 6-Speed. Amazing condition and picked it up with just under 21k on the clock. She's (hopefully) got a looooong life ahead of her! Super excited, this felt like christmas in July! ![]() ![]() Bonus (but crappy) Pic: She's happy in her new home, and I'm happy to have a garage full of chevy power! ![]() ![]() ![]() Have already read some good info on this forum, and can't wait to see how much knowledge I gain as I start the journey of modifying. Already learned about the fuse pull trick (dealer filled her up with 87 and I was full on ignorant at the time). I am hoping this is why it doesn't feel like a 426hp car. Doesn't seem any faster than my LS1 goat was. Hard to tell when you've been daily driving a 94 firebird with 160hp for a couple years. Anything is faster than that! Just wanted to drop in and say hi. Looking forward to getting to know some of you guys as I go along my 5th gen journey! |

CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!
