Door guard protector advice
Bumblee has been in repair for about a week now after an accident. Just got a call from the repair shop, they could not find the original door trim guard that was on my vehicle (pictured below). They’ve offered to put on a black one on both sides and if I don’t like the color they would put on a clear one instead. Any thoughts on how necessary these guards are? How hard are they to remove-worst case scenario. Also if anyone would know where to purchase these guards color matched?- that would be appreciated!

Why would you want them? They ruin the great looks of your Camaro and you should be
smart enough not to open your doors into another object. They don't help at all when your parked in a parking lot where most minor damages occur. Makes no sense imo.

May have been a dealer add-on? I don't think They're OEM, as I've honestly never seen them on another Camaro, let alone as an option. I'd go without personally.

Removing them completely is an option. I guess I had gotten used to em as I’ve really never seen my car w/o them. I would agree that it must have been a dealer add on or the previous owner. I rather take them off myself rather than the repair shop spending another day or two. Any ideas on how I can remove these myself?

I have black ones on my black car. I like them just I in case I let the door get away from me in a tight spot. The ones that have are generic from Auto-Zone and are simple to take off.

I agree with this. It only protects the "other" guy when you open your doors. However, it does nothing to prevent your doors from getting dinged up when another vehicle slams their door into your car.
