Question About Red Jewel Paint Code

Hello All,

I got a new 2SS Red Jewel Tintcoat and I'm adding side moldings to get some protection against door dings. The service parts identification label (in trunk under carpet) has the following info: "BC/CC U 301N". On the internet I am also seeing "WA301N" and have seen "80/WA301N".

A body shop looked up this code as a new GM color and said it is a two stage paint process. I had read elsewhere that Red Jewel Tintcoat was a three stage paint process. Is there any more information available about the paint job of RJT such that the body shop will match it as close as possibly?

I greatly appreciate your feedback and also want to mention that my motivation comes after seeing the excellent job shown on Camaro Mike's (of NY) thread...

Thanks Again..

Joe

Go to duplicolor.com and see if they have it avail yet.... I had good luck matching the pearl white on my Ducati with their products. (Also a 3 stage system)

I couldn't find it at duplicolor. I couldn't find the Corvette Ruby Red either. I did however find it at paintscratch.com

It comes in two pens if you go that route. It would be a 3 step process. The 2 colors followed by a clear coat.

I believe its 3 steps. Base color, metallic then clear coat. You can get the paint from GM.
