Unless you have the corresponding grill for the flowtie, just buying the emblem won't work. The grill is solid behind the standard emblem. You could make your own like I did. Perfect no, but it flows air and still cool looking.

I only need the Flowtie. (edit:But may entertain the entire grille if the price is reasonable) Depending on which grille is chosen, yeah it may be solid but the Heritage Grille is exactly like the Z/28 grille. It is not solid in the emblem area. When I had my '14 SS 1LE I bought the Heritage grille and modified my OE Bowtie exactly how the GM engineer did when they developed the Flowtie. Eventually I found a new Flowtie on Ebay and mounted it to the Heritage grille.

The Flowtie mounts via a backing plate that is shaped like a Bowtie with the center hollowed out. Pic below.

Unfortunately for me, when I traded in my '14, the Flowtie and Heritage grille went with the car. I don't have many regrets in life but not swapping in my modded OE Bowtie for the authentic Flowtie is one of them

I am looking to do the Flowtie on my '22. I already installed the old modded '14 Bowtie, but I want the real one. I looked at the Gen6 ZL1 Flowtie and it is slightly bigger (Edit: I believe I was wrong on this) and it is much thinner which would make mounting more difficult.

My current '22 SS 1LE with that moddedOE '14 SS 1LE Bowtie

Inner edge is a little rough from the plastic removal. I desire the Z Flowtie because it is very smooth there.

Update:

Since finding a Gen5 Z/28 Flowtie is a long shot, I decided to try to make one from a Gen6 ZL1 upper grille. This upper grille has an integrated Flowtie. By chance there was a gentleman (Thanks willzilla) selling a used Gen6 ZL1 upper grille on the camaro6 forums. I cut away the Flowtie base from the grille and shaped it so it would fit nice against my '22 SS 1LE grille. I wanted it to look seemless and like GM would have mounted it. A few optimized notches to match the SS grille, a bit of epoxy to fill in the cut areas where it was originally part of the ZL1 grille, some wet sanding and new way to mount it along with fresh matte black paint brought it all together.

Fun fact.
In order to do what I wanted to on the Flowtie base, I had to separate it from chrome part of the Flowtie. On the back of the Gen6 ZL1 chrome Flowtie is a #, 23468210. That is the same # as the 14-15 Z/28 Flowtie part #. I believe that GM copied the shape and design of the Z/28's Flowtie for the Gen6 Flowtie . I think GM used that # as a casting/mold # for the Gen6 application. A Gen5 Z/28 connection to the Gen6 ZL1!
