i am ordering the SLP front badges and center landing pad. I see there are posts on how to remove the bowtie from the factory pad but how do i replace the whole pad from the grille?

Do you mean take the whole grille out of the bumper cover? If so you have to remove the whole entire cover to do this. The grille can't be removed and "left out" because it is the support for the cover when it is installed.

there is a center portion of the grille that carries the bowtie and the replacement looks like it is separate from the grille itself...

I believe the replacement has a bit of black plastic that extends to fill the gap left when removing the larger bowtie emblem. Is that what you are referring to?

There is a part that replaces that grill piece. I've seen it mentioned. I'll see if I can find it.

the picture above is what comes with the new badges.....apparently, the bowtie is removed and there is a piece behind the factory bowtie that looks similar to the one in the pic......I just need to know how to take out the factory backing plate to replace it with the one pictured above.

i just put mine on yesterday from slp
not hard to install new ss just put ss on landing pad it has adheasive on the back and it fits right in place from where the old emblem was on

when the chrome bowtie comes off, is there a black piece behind it that comes out with it or is it separate from it and then itis removed and replaced with the new landing pad?

Okay the emblem comes out and there's a space where the SLP plastic piece goes in. There's two clips one on either side of the emblem and one in the middle they're like tabs you have to push to get it out. Once you get the emblem off you'll get what I'm saying. It was kind of a pain to do though to be honest.

Take a look at your front bowtie and look and feel behind it and you will see how it is mounted on and the tabs/clips you have to push/pry off and the whole thing comes off.

thanks so much for everybody's info! After reading all of this and finding this picture.....i finally got it through my brain that the factory bowtie doesnt have a landing pad......its is the landing pad. I feel like a complete idiot now but at lease this idiot has his answer......Thanks again! Kudos to my Camaro5 Family!

What about taking the factory SS emblem out. I thought I heard that one was a lot more difficult.
