Anyone had warranty problems on their CAI??

Just wondering if anyone has had or is having problems with their warranty due to the addition of a CAI. I am wanting to do a Roto-fab but dont want to lose the warranty just yet? any suggestions?

I can't remember the law but a part must be proven by the dealer to have caused damage for it to void the warranty and it can only be attributed to that part not the whole warranty.

This is correct. They can't refuse to repair a transmission under warranty because you have a CAI, but they probably could if you had installed a torque converter. Now if you go and cut the frame or alter something crucial to the operation of the vehicle, that's when you could be looking at an out right voiding of your warranty.

Edit: Some dealers will refuse to work on vehicles that have performance modifications, but that is just a dealer trying to cover his backside and doesn't necessarily mean your warranty has been voided by the manufacturer.

Many of our customers have the dealer install the part so it holds their warranty. Or you can ask your dealer if they will still cover your warranty if you purchase a cold air intake kit.

If there is every a problem with your Camaro's engine and it needs to go in for service, you can always through the stock intake back in when the car gets serviced as well.

There are probably thousands of 2010 Camaro owners with a cold air intake installed on their cars, it really isn't something you should worry about with warranty work. GM even makes a cold air intake kit of their own.

cai

i have a cai on my car and had an issue. the engine light came on and the dealer said that the engine was running lean due to too much air comming in. i check the cai tube for any leaks or cracks and everything looked ok. they cleared it and it never came back on.

might be changing to a dealer that will allow a cold air intake. cant see where a cai will void the warranty unless it causes damage to another part.

I spoke with the head of the service dept at my dealer and he told me absolutely not to worry about it, will not void the warranty.

Just keep your stock parts. You can reinstall the original intake in 20 mins. If you have a problem just switch it back to factory before you bring it in.
